A "mini slasher flick" seems perfectly appropriate for the latest video from Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein and his band Doyle -- and that's exactly what "Run For Your Life," premiering exclusively below, is. - Billboard

W.A.S.P. - "RE-IDOLIZED: The 25th Anniversary of The Crimson Idol"! The Previously Unreleased Film & Soundtrack United After 25 Years!

Following up on an incredibly successful Kickstarter campaign late last year,GWAR will bring the blasphemous, blood-soaked series that fans demanded to print in June, courtesy of Dynamite Entertainment!

GWAR has released an official video announcing the Dynamite partnership, which can be viewed here:

From the depths of outer space to the frozen wasteland of Antarctica, punk rock and heavy metal's most shocking band of intergalactic blood-spewing alien monsters has returned to kill everything and respect nothing in the pages of GWAR: Orgasmageddon! Banished to the past by the cold and calculating Mr. Perfect, the heroes of GWAR trample through time like a deranged Bill & Ted on bath salts. Antics ensue as they stomp and smash and shape human history to what we accept as our current reality. Co-written by GWARthemselves and Matt Miner (Toe Tag Riot, Critical Hit), and featuring art by Jonathan Brandon Sawyer (Welcome Back, Critical Hit), GWAR: Orgasmageddon is a love letter to comics, grindhouse movies, and heavy metal, sure to appeal both to the most die-hard fan and the comics fanboy/fangirl intrigued by the prospect of social awareness drowned in geysers of blood and alien jizz.

"It's awesome to have a comic coming out!" says Matt Maguire, better known in the band lineup as Sawborg Destructo. "When Matt Miner and I first talked, everything clicked and I knew we were going to do a cool project. We can't wait to show all of the amazing work that is being generated for this comic! With Dynamite in our corner, it's gonna be a big book!"

Regarding what GWAR fans will love most about the series, Maguire adds, "The blood... maybe the story... but mostly the blood. Oh, did we mention that Slymenstra Hymen is gonna be in it? And oh yeah -- blood!"

"I always wanted to be the guy to help bring GWAR to modern-day comics," says writer Matt Miner. "Most people when they get into comics want to do Batman or Spider-Man or write the next great Punisher story, but I really, really wanted to write my favorite scumdogs of the universe... the all-mightyGWAR!  Although working on that other stuff would be cool, too."

Regarding the concept and audience for the new series, Miner says, "People who love fun comics are gonna dig this crazy story that dives into the past and shows how GWAR not only created humans, but shaped our history to what we now know as our actual modern day reality. GWAR fans are going to love that all the creators on the book are fans -- every single one, from me and artist Jonathan Brandon Sawyer, all the way to every single variant cover artist -- and GWAR themselves are contributing art and co-writing the book, to boot. This isn't a case of us getting the license and then running with it; we collaborate very closely with the band and are in almost constant contact during the creation. Fans of comics with a deeper meaning may have to dig through the blood, the guts, and the sometimes off-color jokes, but they're gonna find what they're looking for; GWAR has always been a mirror held up to the worst aspects of humanity, so that social satire and consciousness is there, although it may be splattered with politician brains and alien bile. You do not need to be a GWAR fan to have a ton of fun with this comic!"

"Anyone who is familiar with GWAR's theatrical performances, and over their thirty-year history will agree that it is hard to think of a band better suited to the comic book page," says Dynamite CEO and publisher, Nick Barrucci. "It seems only fitting that these masters of gore find their published home alongside the comic book adventures of the original shock rockers, KISS!"

GWAR: Orgasmageddon #1 will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors' April 2017 Previews catalog, the premier source of merchandise for the comic book specialty market, and slated for release in June.  Comic book fans are encouraged to reserve copies of GWAR with their local comic book retailers.GWAR: Orgasmageddon will also be available for individual customer purchase through digital platforms courtesy of Comixology, Dynamite Digital, iVerse, and Dark Horse Digital.
Co-writer Matt Miner has written a post explaining the comic book pre-order system and why it's so important if we want more GWAR comics in the future:
The comic's creators have also provided a pre-order slip to make reserving copies with your local comic shop easy, and the band asks their fans to please call their local comic stores and both pre-order copies of the comic and request the store stocks GWAR comics for their shelves.

Welcome one and all to THE MISSION, STYX’s sonically sweet 16th studio album and its most ambitious, most challenging, and most rewarding release to date. Please take note of the official stardate, as THE MISSION has duly been set for liftoff June 16 on the band’s label, Alpha Dog 2T/UMe. Fans can pre-order the album at any of these online retail outlets and Styxworld.com.
The first single, “Gone Gone Gone,” was released today at radio and online retail outlets. A video premiered on Billboard.com and can be seen
“The planets truly aligned for THE MISSION, and I couldn’t be prouder,” says vocalist/guitarist Tommy Shaw, who co-wrote the album’s storyline with longtime collaborator Will Evankovich (Shaw/Blades, The Guess Who). “It’s our boldest, most emblematic album since PIECES OF EIGHT.”
As founding guitarist James “JY” Young continues, “In the 40th anniversary year of our release of our biggest selling album of all time, GRAND ILLUSION, it just seemed truly appropriate to save our new studio album until this year. Needless to say, I’m very excited.”
“THE MISSION is a deep, conceptual, and cinematic epic that offers listeners a thrilling emotional journey — and all ‘cast’ with impassioned guitar parts and those textured, ‘chill-inducing’ Styx vocals. Guitarists Tommy Shaw and James Young sound like they’re energetic upstarts with something to prove, rather than members of a band with decades of history. This is a truly brilliant soundscape, as well as a tribute to the evocative power of the guitar.” — Michael Molenda, Editor-in-Chief, Guitar Player
“A throwback to the styles of classic Styx records like THE GRAND ILLUSION and PIECES OF EIGHT, THE MISSION is a wonderful mix of knotty, '70s-era progressive rock madness alongside the melodic power pop the band does so well. Todd Sucherman might be the baby of the group, but he’s an old soul when it comes to finding the right flavor for the new material—and he’s not shy to provide a healthy slab of blazing hand technique, elevating parts to a whole other level of excitement.”
-- Ilya Stemkovsky, Modern Drummer
“Styx have really delivered a welcome addition to their catalog with the arrival of THE MISSION, which wraps in all of the important elements of their much loved classic sound, with a wealth of big hooks, anthemic choruses and most importantly, an album’s worth of really good Styx music.”
--Matt Wardlaw, UltimateClassicRock.com
Indeed, THE MISSION is an aurally adventurous 43-minute thrill ride that chronicles the trials, tribulations, and ultimate triumphs of the first manned mission to Mars in the year 2033. From the hopeful drive of “Gone Gone Gone” to the stargazing machinations of “Locomotive” to the rough-riding blaze of glory that permeates the hard-charging “Red Storm” to the elegiac optimism of the closing track “Mission to Mars,” the album succeeds in delivering the greater good from a band that continues to fire on all cylinders, 45 years after signing its first recording contract.
In fact, THE MISSION--which was recorded over a two-year period at Blackbird Studios, The Shop, and 6 Studio Amontillado in Nashville--displays the best aspects of the ongoing in-harmony musical intersection of the six-man STYX team: the aforementioned guitarist/vocalist Tommy Shaw, co-founding guitarist/vocalist James “JY” Young, keyboardist/vocalist Lawrence Gowan, original bassist Chuck Panozzo, drummer/percussionist Todd Sucherman, and bassist Ricky Phillips.
The new music was created to reflect the viewpoint of the six-person crew enlisted for the maiden voyage of Khedive, the first entry in a new fleet of nuclear-powered interplanetary spacecraft underwritten by the Global Space Exploration Program (or GSEP, for short). The Khedive team consists of The Pilot, a fully hands-on, seat-of-the-pants born leader; a First Officer who serves as the team’s big-brother figure; an Engineer who is skeptical of every phase of the mission but remains confident in his own abilities to make the best of any technical situation; and a Top-Shelf Trio of science, astrophysics, and survivalist experts.
“The album feels simultaneously comfortable and new,” observes Gowan. “It’s both entertaining and charming, and a natural progression of our sound.” Concludes Panozzo, “THE MISSION is a sincere and honest representation of how STYX built upon where we were in the 20th century in order to go somewhere new in the 21st century.” And that’s the gist of THE MISSION, STYX’s bold sonic voyage into an exciting new frontier with the goal of discovering how the universe’s mysteries unfold—and then creating the perfect soundtrack to accompany it.
Light it up, let’s get this show on the road!

It's hard to imagine a more joyous and revelatory contemporary blue-eyed soul recording.

The appropriately titled Soulfire is a tough, tight and clearly inspired project as well as a most welcome
return from the musical shadows for Steven Van Zandt."

-American Songwriter

Little Steven's eagerly anticipated new album, SOULFIRE (Wicked Cool/Big Machine/Ume) is out today. SOULFIRE is Stevie Van Zandt's first solo album in close to two decades and without question his purest and most uniquely personal artistic statement thus far. The album sees the rock legend revisiting songs that span the length of his career as artist, performer, producer, arranger, and songwriter, focusing directly on the hugely influential "soul horns-meet-rock 'n' roll guitars" approach he first pioneered on Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes' classic first three albums. SOULFIRE is available here:

Each of Van Zandt's prior five solo albums had seen him expressing his utterly personal songwriting through a changing variety of sounds and approaches, an ambitious adventurousness that has fueled much of his creative output these past two decades. He expanded his parameters, as an actor on The Sopranos and

Lilyhammer, as host, historian, and rock 'n' roll advocate on Sirius XM's one-and-only "Little Steven's Underground Garage" (not to mention creator of Sirius XM's long-running "Outlaw Country" format). Van Zandt kept his skills sharp by composing the score for all three seasons of Lilyhammer and continued to work as producer and songwriter, lending his distinctive craft to records from an array of international garage rockers, but couldn't kick a lingering sense of unfinished business.

"I felt a bit guilty about having walked away from Little Steven the artist," he says. "I left that part of myself behind and I shouldn't have done that. I let the material down by not continuing to perform it," he says. "I betrayed the work and I want to fix that. I didn't give up on the material - there were a lot of other factors - but I do have a sense of wanting some redemption for it."

Van Zandt - who will remain a touring and recording member of The E Street Band - is now looking forward to hitting the road with his own big band. Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul will celebrate SOULFIRE with an epic international tour schedule, with headline gigs and festival dates around the world. A full-scale North American headline tour will be announced soon - for regular updates and ticket information, please visit

1.       "Soulfire" (co-written with Anders Bruus of The Breakers) "Doing the radio show keeps you very much in tune with what's going on in the world of rock 'n' roll. It's not the real world, we live in a completely parallel universe, but we've broadcast over 700 new bands in the past 14 years. A lot of them we signed to my Wicked Cool label, like The Breakers, who are a very good band from Denmark. This was a way of exercising my songwriting muscles at that time. I try to live with purpose, and that includes songwriting. I don't get up every day and write a song just to write a song, I have to have a specific reason for it. So if I'm producing a band and I feel they need a little something extra or something specific, I'll write it for them, or in this case, with them. To some extent, that's what kept my songwriting alive over these past years."

2.       "I'm Coming Back" (Originally found on Southside Johnny and The Asbury Jukes' 1991 LP, BETTER DAYS) "I did their first three albums in 1976, 1977, and 1978 but then we didn't work together for another 15 years. The lyrics were perfect for Southside at that point and they work for me, at this point. It's one of my favorite lyrics that I've ever written."

3.       "The Blues Is My Business" (Written by Kevin Bowe and Todd Cerney, recorded by Etta James in 2003) "I've never recorded a real urban Southside-of-Chicago blues thing before. I went though a blues period growing up but by the time I got to the recording studio, I'd kind of gone in a different direction. We worked it out for BluesFest and I liked the arrangement so much, we recorded it for the album."

4.       "I Saw The Light" "I had half-written it for Richie Sambora & Orianthi but the next time I talked to him he had already written 40 songs so I didn't bother finishing it. I came across it as we were making my album and thought, I like this, maybe I'll finish it for me."

5.       "Some Things Just Don't Change" (Originally found on Southside Johnny and The Asbury Jukes' 1977 LP, THIS TIME IT'S FOR REAL) "One of my favorites. I wrote it with David Ruffin and The Temptations in mind. I was basically trying to write a classic Motown song. It can be an interesting artistic challenge writing for other people. As third generation rock 'n' rollers we grew up post-show business. It was art form by then, very autobiographical. That's one of the reasons for its success as an art form, people relate to rock 'n' roll in a personal way. So part of you wants to write something traditional, something classic, but part of you always wants to keep it very personal."

6.       "Love On The Wrong Side of Town" (Co-written with Bruce Springsteen and originally found on Southside Johnny and The Asbury Jukes' 1977 LP, THIS TIME IT'S FOR REAL) "Bruce had the riff and I did the rest. When you wrote, arranged, and produced the original versions, it's not always easy to redo them. They become definitive. You did it that first way for a reason. I found it difficult to do much with this one but when we got to the end of the song I found an opportunity to change it up a little bit. I changed little things here and there on all the songs on the album but it definitely took a minute."

7.       "The City Weeps Tonight" - "It was going to be the first song on my first solo album. I was going to do a chronological history of rock 'n' roll with my own records but the concept changed and I got political. It remained three-quarters finished all these years, but I always liked it. I love doo-wop so this was a great way to get that onto the record."

8.       "Down and Out in New York City" (Written by Bodie Chandler and Barry De Vorzon and originally recorded on James Brown's 1973 Black Caesar soundtrack) "I love the blaxploitation genre - we do a special on the radio show every year, the day after Thanksgiving, we call it 'Blaxploitation Friday.' My favorite has always been James Brown's theme from Black Caesar. It has the immediate common ground for me of being about New York City. We did it for BluesFest, came up with a really cool groove and a new horn line and made it our own. It has a bit of a jazzy element, which I explored with my Lilyhammer score, but like the blues song, it's unlike anything I've ever recorded before on a solo album so it was nice to get those genres onto a record."

9.       "Standing in the Line of Fire" (Co-written with Gary U.S. Bonds and (L.) Anderson and originally found on Gary U.S. Bonds' 1984 STANDING IN THE LINE OF FIRE) "Gary U.S. Bonds is somebody you don't want to mess with. The records I did with him are so damn good, I thought, I can't really beat this, I need to really change it somehow. So I added a piece of music I did for Lilyhammer - now it's like Gary U.S. Bonds-meets-Ennio Morricone."

10.   "Saint Valentine's Day" (Originally found on The Cocktail Slippers' 2009 LP, SAINT VALENTINE'S DAY MASSACRE) "I wrote it for Nancy Sinatra but unfortunately never did the session. I recorded it with The Cocktail Slippers, similar to the way I was going to do it with Nancy, and then David Chase liked it so we did a more rock 'n' rolly guys' version of it for his movie, Not Fade Away. For my version, I added a horn line that I think changes the whole complexion of the song, makes it more of a soul thing."

11.   "I Don't Want To Go Home" (Originally found on Southside Johnny and The Asbury Jukes' 1976 debut LP, I DON'T WANT TO GO HOME) "It's the first song I ever wrote and I wanted to do it the way I'd originally imagined it. I'd spent five or six years trying to write songs but I was never really happy with them. I decided to go back and really study the roots of rock 'n' roll. To me, the beginning of rock 'n' roll songwriting was Leiber & Stoller, so I decided I'd write a Drifters song. I was on the oldies circuit at the time, playing with The Dovells, and I got to meet all of my fifties and sixties early rock 'n' roll heroes, spend some time with them. I wrote it for Ben E. King but then didn't have the courage to give it to him."

12.   "Ride The Night Away" (Co-written with Steve Jordan and originally found on Jimmy Barnes' 1985 LP, FOR THE WORKING CLASS MAN; later recorded for Southside Johnny and The Asbury Jukes' 1991 LP, BETTER DAYS) "Steve Jordan came over to my house one day and said, 'I've got a Jimmy Barnes session, I promised him a song and I don't have one so I'm not leaving until we write one.' That kind of songwriting-on-a-deadline goes back to Leiber & Stoller as well - I love that whole Brill Building thing, I wish I'd been around for that period."

New Jersey metal band Lorna Shore has been making waves since the release of their highly-praised, pulverizing sophomore album, Flesh Coffin, which dropped on February 17th with Outerloop Records. As the band prepares to hit the road tomorrow for their national headlining tour, The Beg for Death Tour, today the band has dropped a playthrough video of the album's title track, "Flesh Coffin," by guitarists Adam De Micco and Connor Deffley, exclusively with Gear Gods today. Check out the full playthrough video at Gear Gods here. On the video, Adam De Micco states:

"We are excited to finally bring this playthrough of 'Flesh Coffin' to you guys.  It features a lot of the ideas I tried out for the first time and help lay foundation for the rest of the album.  This song was more based around composition and arranging rather than technical playing, but hopefully there is more than enough riffs to keep you entertained." - Adam De Micco

Formed in 2010, Lorna Shore consists of vocalist Tom Barber, guitarists Adam De Micco and Connor Deffley, and drummer Austin Archey. To date, they have released three EPs and released their debut full-length Psalms in June of 2015. Aside from being featured on the Metal Alliance Tour with Deicide, Lorna Shore has most notably toured alongside bands such as Carnifex, Chelsea Grin, The Black Dahlia Murder, and more. The band has also played festivals such as the New England Metaland Hardcore Festival, Never Say Never Festival, South By So What, Skate and Surf Festival and SXSW's New England Metal and Hardcore Festival Stage. Lorna Shore's unique signature aesthetic spans death metal, black metal, power metal, and progressive rock for a style that encompasses brutal breakdowns, dazzling technical passages, white-knuckle-ride dynamics, and rich textured moments. The band's sophomore album, Flesh Coffin(Outerloop Records), released in February of 2017, was produced by Lorna Shore, Carson Slovak, and Grant McFarland at Atrium Audio (August Burns Red, Everclear, From Ashes to New), mixed by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland, and mastered by Zakk Cervini (Beartooth, Good Charlotte, Blink 182). In its first week, Flesh Coffin hit the Billboard charts, reaching #2Current Hard Rock and Top New Artist, #5 Overall Hard Rock, and #67 Top Current Album. Being hailed by Trevor Strnaud's (The Black Dahlia Murder) for Metal Injection stating, "Lorna Shore easily transcend what is commonly known as deathcore with their blisteringly creative marriage of black and tech metal chops...it's clinical, quick moving, with impressive instrumental shredding," and New Noise Magazine who penned"There's no doubt that Lorna Shore's sophomore record will go down as one of the best deathcore albums in recent memory."

MISS MAY I Unleash New Single "Swallow Your Teeth"
New Album, Shadows Inside, Out June 2 on Sharptone Records
US Headlining Tour w/Upon A Burning Body, Kublai Khan Starts Next Week

This past January marked the release of BILL & PHIL's Songs Of Darkness And Despair, the collaborative release between horror icon Bill Moseley - most notable as Chop Top in Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, and Otis in Rob Zombie's House Of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects - and extreme music legend Philip H. Anselmo (Down, Pantera, Superjoint, Scour, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, Arson Anthem etc.).
In commemorate its release, today Revolver offers up the visual accompaniment to "Dirty Eye." The clip comes in the form of a strange and dark puppet show/music video directed by filmmaker, Ryan Oliver of Deathblow Productions.
Point your peepers on over to
THIS LOCATION to check it out.

Notes director Ryan Oliver of the clip, "As a three-year alumni of Housecore Horror Fest, it was a special honor to make a video for BILL & PHIL. My crew and I had a lot of fun making this bizarre puppet show over the past winter/spring. This opportunity came right on the heels of our last Housecore video for [Housecore labelmates] Child Bite's 'Vermin Mentality.' Though different, I think they complement each other quite well. Once again, we were trusted to do what we wanted creatively and in the end, it seemed best to follow Bill Moseley's lyrical cues and try to interpret them in an entertaining fashion. We're pretty pleased with the turnout and hope it lives up to the uniquely wild music on this record."

"This video and down 'n' dirty and comes with no strings attached," says Moseley, "well, except for the puppets. I can't speak for Phil, but frankly I've never looked better!" Anselmo finds it, "very very very very very interesting."
Produced and performed by Anselmo and Stephen "The Big Fella" Berrigan (Down, SYK, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals, Eyehategod, haarp, Classhole, etc.), and mastered by Scott Hull of Visceral Sound, BILL & PHIL's Songs Of Darkness And Despair includes guest appearances by Kevin Bond (Superjoint) on guitar, Squizzy Squires (King Parrot) on bass and guitar, and Jose "Blue" Gonzalez (Superjoint, Warbeast, Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals) on percussion.
Songs Of Darkness And Despair is out now on Housecore Records. Order bundles (including limited edition air fresheners and face masks) are available at The Housecore Store
Stream the record in its entirety at the official Housecore Bandcamp page at
From preppie journalist to Satanic serial killer, Bill Moseley has taken a long and unusual road to cult stardom, firmly cementing his place in the annals of horror history along the way. Having released his Spider Mountain record (No Way Down), and collaborated with Buckethead on the Cornbugs project, Moseley expands his musical endeavors by teaming up with Anselmo. BILL & PHIL's Songs Of Darkness And Despair is a brilliant trip that will give everyone a thrill.
Comments Anselmo: "Working with Mr. Moseley was an awesome experience! Bill brought the lyrics and Stephen [Berrigan] and I just improvised directly on the spot, and squeezed out six tunes in three days. All the songs have a different vibe because I wanted the music to represent Bill's lyrical vision(s), and we needed to, because Bill does indeed have a unique, visual element within his choice of words and phrasing. I love Bill Moseley, and can't wait to work on the next one!"
"...a unique endeavor, and a pretty damned cool one, at that." - Blabbermouth
"...a dirty, trippy, fun experience through different worlds.... A must-have, not just for fans of Phil Anselmo or Bill Moseley, but any person who wants a record that does what many struggle to do nowadays: take you on a journey that you could not find anywhere else except this singular record." - Metal Assault
"...a genuinely fun trip through the sometimes depraved, but always-impressive minds of Bill Moseley and Philip H. Anselmo...a unique piece of genre work that may just cause you to enjoy a little bit of darkness and despair." - Spill Magazine
"...a collection of often witty, sometimes dark, always fun songs put together by a group of musically-gifted friends." - Cryptic Rock
"Opening track, 'Dirty Eye,' soars with huge guitars, a swampy Louisiana vibe, and some fairly impressive vocals by Moseley (I didn't know he could sing sing). Kevin Bond adds some great lead work, but the only other rocker on this album is the late-era Black Flagish track 'Catastrophic.' The remaining tracks on this EP each have their own vibe and all around 'thing' going on. 'Corpus Crispy,' sounds like it could have been on Tom Waits' 1999 Mule Variations LP with an added touch of darkness, while the semi-ballad 'Tonight's The Night We Die' offers sparse percussions, hallucinatory lyrics, and an overall spooky soundscape perfectly suited to a desolate evening drive." - PureGrainAudio
"In a world where weirdness is the norm, this will certainly be one of the strangest releases in 2017, but it may also prove to be one of the best. It has a dark, heavy rock vibe alongside an occult melancholy that allows for five tracks of varying structure, dark humor, and atmosphere that consistently challenges and thrills." -- Maximum Volume Music
"...a fascinating listen... aside from the fact that it fits into the occult rock polemic in the broadest possible sense, is that the weird, acid-eating lyrics seem to craft totally unique soundscapes with each passing track. BILL & PHIL is a collaboration unlike almost any other. While on the one hand you hear elements of groups like Kyuss, the guys aren't afraid to hint at far more abstract influences whilst simultaneously reflecting on the sort of morbid humor that defined a lot of oldschool death metal." -- Two Guys Metal Reviews
"In Songs Of Darkness And Despair, they not only hit the mark of 'good,' but they mightily surpassed it... fans of the incredibly unique wanting something left-of-center, look no further." - Echoing Magazine

Brown’s solo debut strips away any boundaries and preconceived notions, reveling in a newfound freedom to express all of the various shades of the man whose name is out front. The song “Fault Line” helped him find his voice. “That was the very first one I sang. After I got that one, I knew that I could do it, and Lance was my biggest motivator in finding that voice. Up until that point I just wasn’t sure.”

From there, there’s the brilliantly straightforward “Lone Rider,” the monstrous In Through the Out Door vibe of “Crossing Lines,” the Pink Floyd reverence of “Best of Me.” “Get Yourself Alive” is something of an ode to “Strawberry Fields Forever,” but with a swift-kick of rock n’ roll. It’s rich in nuance, with Indian tandoori and layers of vocals. The extremely catchy “Grace” is “something you would never expect to hear off a Rex Brown record and that’s exactly why I did it. It’s just a really great song, period. Bottom line.”

Lyrically, the songs are both personal and universally relatable. “Buried Alive” is a deeply moving and confessional song about the loss of Dimebag Darrell. “I drowned myself in cases of whiskey after he died. I was drowning in that black water and I had to find me, ya' know? It's one of those songs that really kind of just came out. ‘You're on your own now, Jack. What're you gonna do?’ The whole record is really cathartic.” Conversely, “What Comes Around Goes Around” could be about “your mailman, your neighbor, or your wife. It’s saying, ‘you made your bed, lay in it. I’m clean on my side of the street, how's your’s going.”

Rex’s solo album is full of mojo and the force of character, determination, and nerve. He tracked lead vocals, rhythm guitars, and bass, working with his primary collaborator and old friend, Lance Harvill, a Nashville-based guitarist and songwriter, on the album’s songs. “Lance was & is, my main man on this. Everything we did was finely tuned, both musically & brotherly.”

Drums were tracked by Christopher Williams, himself no stranger to diverse tastes, from funk music to punk. His talent has been utilized by country music star Lee Greenwood, the reconstituted Blackfoot and most recently, power metal legends Accept. The album was produced by New Yorker turned Nashville transplant Caleb Sherman, a multi-instrumentalist with work on records by Little Big Town and Porter Block, among others. “Caleb produced the project from a musician's standpoint,” adds Brown. “Not just a typical producer’s standpoint, which was something I definitely needed. Between Caleb and Lance, we were a force to be reckoned with. They really pulled out the best in me.” Peter Keyes, known for his work with Lynyrd Skynyrd can also be heard on a few tracks. All bass tracking came from Rex himself as well.

Who is Rex Brown? To the industry, fellow musicians, and a legion of fans around the world, he’s the bassist for Pantera, one of the biggest hard rock and metal acts of the past few decades, alongside Nirvana and Metallica. They had Number One albums with minimal support from traditional commercial outlets and went platinum several times over. Pantera rode a groundswell of underground loyalty, earned through several years of blood, sweat, and road beers. Five major label albums, countless international tours, and a series of carnage-filled home videos cemented a legacy as large as their massive riffs and the band’s insatiable appetites for mayhem, authenticity, and brotherhood.
"The attitude and swagger that served him so well in Pantera carries over quite nicely.” LOUDWIRE

“I Want To Know What Love Is.” “Cold As Ice.” “Hot Blooded.” “Juke Box Hero.”
FOREIGNER, the band behind these classic and iconic songs, is turning 40 this year and they’re bringing their friends along for the year-long celebration.
First up is a mammoth worldwide tour, set to launch in Syracuse, NY on July 11th. For the US shows presented by Live Nation, Foreigner will be alongside Rock & Roll Hall of Famers Cheap Trick — who are also celebrating 40 years since the release of their self-titled debut album -- and special guest Jason Bonham who will be bringing the music of Led Zeppelin to great night of rock ’n’ roll. Tickets go on sale January 13, 2017 at www.livenation.com.
“I never could have imagined when I set out to create Foreigner forty years ago, that we’d still be touring around the world and performing the music we love all these years later,” says founding member and lead guitarist Mick Jones. “I can’t express the gratitude I feel when fans share stories of how our songs have been woven into their milestones and memories over the years. This summer we are going to celebrate these songs, and I can’t imagine a better group of friends to share this monumental tour with, than Cheap Trick and Jason Bonham who are sure to make it a true tribute to the everlasting power of rock and roll."
Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2016, CHEAP TRICK is undoubtedly one of the most influential classic rock groups of the past 50 years. They have performed over 5,000 shows spanning four decades and have sold 20 million records worldwide. CHEAP TRICK formed in 1974 and while they have evolved throughout the years, the band continues to reach mainstream and critical success. Hits such as "I Want You To Want Me," "Dream Police," and "Surrender" have cemented the group as one of America's top rock 'n' roll bands of all time. In 2016, CHEAP TRICK released its 17th studio collection, Bang Zoom Crazy…Hello
“I was thrilled to hear Mick Jones wanted me to be involved in celebrating 40 years of Foreigner. I spent 3 years as their drummer and had a great time," says Jason Bonham. "Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience show will hit home run after home run with these timeless classics done to perfection. JBLZE started 7 years ago as a way to show my appreciation not only to my dad and the music of Led Zeppelin, but also to the fans themselves. With the amazing Cheap Trick along with the one and only Foreigner this is show not to be missed.”
To coincide with the tour, FOREIGNER--Mick Jones (lead guitar), Kelly Hansen (lead vocals), Jeff Pilson (bass, vocals), Tom Gimbel (rhythm guitar, sax, vocals), Michael Bluestein (keyboards), Bruce Watson (guitar) and Chris Frazier (drums)– will be releasing a celebratory 40th anniversary album that features forty FOREIGNER tracks throughout the years entitled 40 – Forty Hits From Forty Years (RHINO). This album is a comprehensive compilation of original hits and several tracks from the current lineup with Kelly Hansen on vocals including “Cant Slow Down,” “Too Late,” and the Top 20 AC hit “When It Comes To Love.” The album also features two new songs, “The Flame Still Burns,” and “Give My Life For Love,” a brand new song by Jones. Rhino is kicking off a year-long catalog promotion with the January 24th picture disc release of Head Games.
Since the 1977 release of their first hit “Feels Like The First Time” and their self-titled debut album on Atlantic Records, FOREIGNER has been universally hailed as one of the world’s most popular rock acts with 10 multi-platinum albums, 16 Top 30 hits, and worldwide album sales exceeding 75 million.  Responsible for some of rock and roll’s most enduring anthems including “Juke Box Hero,” “Cold as Ice,” “Feels Like The First Time,” “Urgent,” “Head Games,” “Say You Will,” “Dirty White Boy,” “Long, Long Way From Home,” and the worldwide #1 hit, “I Want To Know What Love Is,” FOREIGNER continues to rock the charts more than thirty years into the game.
Recent albums like Juke Box Heroes, a new compilation of digitally recorded Foreigner hits, and The Best of Foreigner 4 & More, recorded live from The Borgata, Atlantic City, both entered the Billboard Top 200 chart. Foreigner also featured strongly in every category in Billboard's recently released “Greatest of All Time” listing.  Catalog sales often eclipse those of Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Def Leppard, Van Halen and most of their Classic Rock peers (Source: Nielsen SoundScan 2/11/16 - 2/3/16).
Check out the tour at any of the following stops, with more dates to be announced in the coming weeks and posted on the band’s official website. Fans can check out

Kiefer Sutherland is getting back on the road this year to play in more than 20 cities as the singer/songwriter announces his Not Enough Whiskey 2017 Tour (tour dates below). CLICK HERE to purchase tickets.

Momentum continues for Kiefer Sutherland’s music career and debut album,
DOWN IN A HOLE, which includes 11 co-written tracks by Sutherland and producer Jude Cole.

Reviewers applauded Sutherland’s vocals, guitar licks and songwriting style when he performed more than 75 dates in 2016:

People may have come to see a celebrity up close, but Sutherland earned the crowd's respect through solid songs instead of star power...His original, unheard material dominated.
-Piet Levy, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Sutherland’s songs, which ranged from folk to blues-rock to straight-up country, were consistently strong – often with deep, telling lyrics…. His voice also was a cut above the expected celebrity singer...not afraid to be strong or gruff, and full of feeling because of it.
-John J. Moser, The Morning Call

His raspy, mid-rangy voice is expressive, and it gets the job done. Onstage, as you’d expect, he’s got personality. His band is superb...Their tight, punchy, sound puts across Sutherland’s hard-edged country-rock songs about love, pain, and regrets washed down with whiskey.
-Jim Beckerman, North Jersey News

Recently, Sutherland performed “Can’t Stay Away” on “
Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and “Calling Out Your Name” on “The View.” Sutherland also graced the cover of Guitar Aficionado, Goldmine Magazine and Collectible Guitar issues.

Sutherland, known for his starring role in the ABC series “Designated Survivor” and Fox series "24," also starred in movies like “Stand By Me,” “The Lost Boys,” “Young Guns,” “Flatliners,” “A Few Good Men,” “A Time to Kill,” “Dark City” “Melancholia” and most recently, a western called “Forsaken.”

Legendary MISFITS Guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von       Frankenstein Releases Official Music Video for

"Run For Your Life"

"Run For Your Life" Premiered on Billboard!

Abominate The World Tour 2017 Kicking Off 6/1/2017

Legendary Misfits Guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein has released the Official Music Video for "Run For Your Life." Originally premiered on Billboard Magazine, "Run For Your Life" was directed by Brian Cox at Flarelight Films, and is the first single off of his upcoming As We Die LP (due out 6/2/2017 via Monsterman Records.

I did the guitars when I did the Abominator record. We did two albums at once, actually. We were going to do a double album but there was so much material we just cut the motherfucker in half. We were actually done with all the recording during February of 2016, and we were just having a real problem getting the mix right. We mixed for 14 fucking months...I'm out of my mind, man. It's got to be perfec. It's your product and you have to make it perfect, 'cause it's forever. It's got to be great. When my favorite artist makes a record and I don't like it, I'm pissed, y'know? I don't want anyone to feel that way about us. - Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein

Roadrunner recording group KORN has announced plans for a spring headline tour, set to get underway May 7th at the Fillmore in Silver Spring, MD. The intimate headline run will continue through May 18th and will see KORN joined by special guests Animals As Leaders and DED (see attached itinerary).

Pre-sale tickets and VIP packages for the upcoming tour will be available beginning Thursday, February 23rd at 10:00 AM local time.  Remaining tickets for all dates will go on sale to the general public on Friday, February 24th at 10:00 AM local time. For complete details, please visit www.korn.com/tour.

KORN will begin another wide-ranging world tour by kicking off back to back nights Grand Opening week at Anaheim, CA’s brand new House of Blues on March 5th and 6th, both long sold-out. From there the two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning band embarks on a marathon global run that sees them visiting Switzerland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Austria, Slovakia, Columbia, Brazil, Argentina, and Chile.  KORN then return to North America for a series of top-billed festival performances, including Concord, NC’s Carolina Rebellion (May 6th), Columbus, OH’s Rock on the Range (May 20th), Oshkosh, WI’s Rock USA (July 13th), and Chicago, IL’s Chicago Open Air (July 15th).

KORN’s new studio album, THE SERENITY OF SUFFERING, arrived last October and instantly ascended to #4 on the SoundScan/Billboard 200. The album – which also debuted at #1 on Billboard’s “Top Rock Albums” and “Hard Rock Albums” chart – established KORN as one of an elite number of rock legends to achieve multiple top 10 placements on the chart. With 10 total top 10 albums thus far, KORN’s count is now equal to Led Zeppelin.

Produced by GRAMMY® Award-winner Nick Raskulinecz, THE SERENITY OF SUFFERING includes the GRAMMY® Award-nominated, Top 5 rock radio smash, “Rotting In Vain,” as well as the new hit single, “Take Me.” Currently climbing the Top 10 at Active Rock outlets nationwide, “Take Me” is joined by a powerful companion video, streaming now on KORN’s official YouTube channel.

With career album sales in excess of 40 million, two GRAMMY® Awards, nearly 20 million social media followers, and over two decades of non-stop world tours, KORN stands tall as one of the most iconic and influential bands in the annals of hard rock and beyond. Vocalist Jonathan Davis, guitarists James “Munky” Shaffer and Brian “Head” Welch, and bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu came together in 1993 and immediately started a metal revolution with their classic 1994 self-titled debut, its 1996 follow-up, the 2x RIAA platinum certified “LIFE IS PEACHY,” and 1998’s 5x platinum certified, #1 blockbuster “FOLLOW THE LEADER.”

The years that followed saw KORN battling an array of personal demons but emerging triumphant to even greater popular success and artistic achievement. THE SERENITY OF SUFFERING builds upon the band’s remarkable history with a return to the dual-guitar dynamic that first fueled their music, powered in no small part by drummer Ray Luzier, and some of Davis’ strongest and most reflective songwriting to date.

In addition to its extraordinary popular success, THE SERENITY OF SUFFERING has earned ecstatic critical applause around the world. “Possibly their heaviest album ever,” declared Rolling Stone. “(THE SERENITY OF SUFFERING) really shines on some truly weird, inventive bridges and codas that switch moods like a DJ flipping the crossfader.” “Monstrously heavy from the opening riff onwards,” raved The Guardian, “this is classic KORN: the grooves are lumbering hulks of viscous sludge, frontman Jonathan Davis’ red-eyed angst fizzes with worldly rage and nearly every song boasts a chorus that will wreak havoc when played to diehard crowds...”

This is just something else I'm doing for fun, man. And musical Freedom. Fun has to come into it or I'm not going to do it. I've had a tremendous career and now I feel like I’m thirty years old again. This has given me that freedom I needed.”

With the release of their sixth full-length studio album, Shadows Inside, less than a month away, Metalcore heavy hitters MISS MAY I are thrilled to unleash their new music video for the record's title track. Slated for a June 2 release on the band's new label, Sharptone Records, Shadows Inside is the follow up to Miss May I's critically acclaimed efforts 'Deathless' and 'Rise of the Lion', which debuted at #5 & #6 on the Billboard Rock Charts, respectively.

Speaking about the title track for Shadows Inside, MISS MAY I lead vocalist Levi Benton states, "Not only does this song open up our new record, it also sets the tone for the record. This album is all about changes throughout life, good and bad. It's about the past that lives within everyone; their 'Shadows Inside'. The lyrics talk about how great new things can give light to your past and put you in a better place."

Sharing some details about the creation of the music video for "Shadows Inside", Levi adds:

"We have quite a few videos and we're always trying to change things up. With this video for 'Shadows Inside' we not only wanted to recreate the cover of the record in real life, but we also wanted the performance to be abstract. We had black lights and used old lens effects from the 90's to achieve a very classic look and something totally different for us."

Fueled By Ramen band All Time Low has premiered, “Nice2KnoU,” a brand new track off their anticipated LP, LAST YOUNG RENEGADE. The song and accompanying Pat Tracy directed music video -  the performance for which was shot at Jack Barakat’s Baltimore based bar, The Rockwell - is streaming now on Fueled By Ramen’s official YouTube channel.

Frontman Alex Gaskarth elaborated on “Nice2KnoU” stating: “Introducing Volume 4: Nice2KnoU. This one's for the dance halls, the dive bars and the 100 kids we used to play for at the Ottobar every other weekend. It's a tribute to our roots and the history of a band that comes up in small-town with a die-hard group of friends who all want something greater.” Gaskarth continued, “It's an ode to the late nights, filling up the van with half a tank of gas so we could leave for the next show before someone got stabbed in the wrong part of town-- Getting into Tampa at 3am and crashing on someone's floor, saying thanks with a 30 of Coors Light and never seeing that face again. This is a dedication to all the places we've been that made us who we are today, the sea of sweaty hands that raised us up in low-lit clubs across America on our first tours, and all the people we owe these stories to; Nice to know you, see you 'round.”

“Nice2knoU” follows the band’s recently released single, “Life Of The Party, ” and marks the fourth track to be released from All Time Low’s eagerly awaited label debut.  LAST YOUNG RENEGADE is available for pre-order at all DSPs, with exclusive bundles and a limited edition red vinyl LP available at www.alltimelow.com. All pre-orders receive instant grat downloads of “Nice2knoU,” “Life Of The Party,” “Last Young Renegade” as well as the album’s first single, “Dirty Laundry.” LAST YOUNG RENEGADE arrives everywhere on Friday, June 2nd.

All Time Low recently made their return to late night TV, performing “Dirty Laundry” on
NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers.  The band also performed at the first ever MTV Movie & TV Awards which took place outside of the Shrine Auditorium.  They performed cuts from their forthcoming new album, LAST YOUNG RENEGADE, including the album’s title track which they performed as a freak hailstorm thundered down on to the outdoor stage.

All Time Low have also been announced as performers this year’s  Journeys Alternative Press Music Awards, Fueled by Monster Energy which will be held at Cleveland, Ohio’s Quicken Loans Arena on July 17th. In addition, All Time Low will be amongst the top stars performing at the
#iheartvillage at the upcoming iHeartRadio Music Fest, set for September 23rd at 11 AM PT. Tickets for the “Daytime Village Presented by Capital One at the iHeartRadio Music Fest” are on sale now via Ticketmaster.

This June All Time Low will return to the states to celebrate LAST YOUNG RENEGADE with an epic U.S. headline tour. The “Young Renegades Tour” – presented by Rockstar Energy – gets underway June 30th at the House of Blues in Houston, TX and then travels into early August (see attached itinerary). Support throughout the “Young Renegades Tour” will come from Fueled By Ramen label mates SWMRS, along with Waterparks and The Wrecks (see itinerary attached). For updates and remaining ticket availability, please visit

LAST YOUNG RENEGADE follows All Time Low’s 2015 chart-topping studio album, FUTURE HEARTS, and sees the band moving forward and exploring new sonic territory. Written during stays in the mountains of Big Bear Valley and the desert of Palm Springs, California, LAST YOUNG RENEGADE is a journey of critical self-reflection and catharsis unlike of the Maryland-based band’s previous work.  Expansive and nostalgic, LAST YOUNG RENEGADE finds All Time Low sublimely crafting a sound that pushes the envelope with songs like, “Last Young Renegade,” “Life Of The Party,” “Good Times,” and “Ground Control” (Featuring Tegan and Sara).

Formed in 2003 in the suburbs of Baltimore, Maryland, All Time Low is one of the most beloved bands in rock, acclaimed worldwide for their positivity, invention, and always-effervescent songcraft. The band’s three most recent album releases all made top 10 debuts on the SoundScan/Billboard 200, with 2015’s FUTURE HEARTS arriving at #2 – All Time Low’s highest chart placement thus far. In addition, the album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s “Current Albums,” “Top Rock Albums” and “Vinyl Albums” charts as well as at #1 on the official UK Album Chart.

All Time Low has also received a remarkable range of awards and RIAA certifications, including RIAA platinum for 2008’s breakthrough “Dear Maria, Count Me In,” and RIAA gold for such hits as “Weightless” and “A Love Like War (Feat. Vic Fuentes).” Other honors include four Alternative Press Music Awards, five Kerrang! Awards, and the coveted title of “Best Pop Punk Band” at the Top In Rock Awards.

New Album Generation Doom out Now via Napalm Records
Groundbreaking art-rock performer, author and spoken word artist OTEP shook up the states earlier this year with her popular "The Resistance" World Tour performances - potent, engaging exhibitions of activism awareness spreading the vital word on equal rights, social education and political enlightenment. Back by popular demand, OTEP is launching a second extension of the tour, beginning on May 25 in Santa Ana, CA and visiting over 30 more states through July 5. See below for all confirmed tour dates.
Featuring both musical selections from OTEP's extensive music catalog (including her most recent album, Generation Doom, which debuted at #4 on the Hard Rock Chart among others and spawned two Top 40 singles), as well as moments of spoken word and uplifting crowd participation, "The Resistance" World Tour and OTEP follow in the footsteps of fellow activism-focused recording artists like Prophets of Rage, Woodie Guthrie and others as the next, most aggressive chapter of musical social change. "The Resistance" world tour brings the movement to your backyard.
Tickets are on sale now via
www.oteploves.me. For a taste of the energy and passion attendees will witness at each "The Resistance" World Tour stop, watch the music video for OTEP's powerful single, "Equal Rights, Equal Lefts", here.
OTEP states, "After 100 days of Trump, I miss George W. Bush and I'm a bleeding heart liberal. The second leg of 'The Resistance' tour will be an increased celebration of music and poetry dedicated to all of us who are actively resisting the Liar-and-Thief Donald Chump. For those artists who remain silent during these times of crisis, I say, 'Shame on you.' To quote Nina Simone, 'An artist's duty, as far as I'm concerned, is to reflect the times.' So to those who stand with us, I say, 'Thank you, from all of us, thank you.' Music is one of the most powerful forms of art and has proven, throughout our own national history, to empower social change. RESIST."

Robb Flynn, frontman of San Francisco Bay Area metal titans MACHINE HEAD, has just announced a special birthday show in his honor. The event is set to take place at the Oakland Metro on July 22nd, and will feature a plethora of special guests, including the man himself.

MACHINE HEAD has released the following statement regarding the event:
"Yes ladies and gentlemen, this July our fearless leader Robb Flynn will officially be a Quinquagenarian?!

"- In Led Zeppelin terms, that's halfway up the stairway to heaven!
- In fact, at 50, he’ll spend more time trimming his nose hair than his head hair!
- Hell, the best form of birth control for Robb at this is point, is nudity!
- At 50, he's entered the Stone Age... gall, kidney, and bladder.
- He’s seen it all, done it all… but can’t remember most of it!
- That’s right, his back goes out more than he does!
- Turning 50 means he's so old that "doing it three times a night" is how many times Robb get's up to pee!
- At 50 he’s stiff in all the places he doesn’t want to be, and needs a pill to get stiff in the places he does!
- Christ, his wild oats have just turned to porridge!

"Ba Da Bing!

"In honor of the inglorious occasion, the youthfully challenged yet chronologically gifted frontman will be celebrating with a concert performance on Saturday, July 22nd at The Metro Operahouse in Oakland, CA. and features a cavalcade of D-List rockstars, has-been’s, and never-was’s, such as Fuckin’ Joe Cabral and Robb himself.

"The debaucherous, alcohol-drenched event will likely be viewed by future generations as "the greatest show of all-time”, and is sure to make him an official charter member for the “Old Farts Hall of Fame”!

"He only turns half-a-century this year, don’t miss this once in a lifetime event!

"Tickets go on sale this Friday at noon California time."

MISS MAY I have unleashed yet another track off their highly anticipated new record, Shadows Inside. The album's third single, “Swallow Your Teeth”, continues in the footsteps of showcasing the band's unrelenting aggression and defiant sound, all the while boasting massive hooks and crushing riffs that guarantee it as a future fan favorite.

Click here to listen to "Swallow Your Teeth" -

The band has also teamed up with Spotify to allow listeners to pre-save Shadows Inside to their playlists and profiles. Fans can now follow this link to add the album to their playlists: http://radi.al/MissMayIPresave Fresh off a highly energetic headlining run in Canada, MISS MAY I are preparing to make their long awaited return to the US, which will take shape in the form of a headlining tour with support from Upon A Burning Body, Kublai Khan, and label-mates Currents. A complete list of dates can be found below.

Heavy metal pioneers ACCEPT are back in the game with a new studio album! The record entitled The Rise Of Chaos, will be unleashed on August 4th, 2017. The band's 4th studio release through Nuclear Blast will continue the tradition of its three predecessors - Blood Of The Nations, Stalingrad, and Blind Rage - with grandeur and precision.

Today, the band has unveiled the cover artwork of the new record, which was created by the Hungarian artist Gyula Havancsák.

"THE RISE OF CHAOS is something I have been thinking about often. Wherever we go - there is some hidden as well as some visible destruction and it kind of changes the world we know. What was there today - can be gone tomorrow and it’s somehow irritating, because it happens on so many levels and no one knows what comes next. The cover is our last stage set - but now clearly “destroyed" - like… after a catastrophe", explains Wolf Hoffmann.

And if this wasn't enough, ACCEPT will celebrate the album's live premiere exclusively on August 3rd, on the day before its release, as a part of a special show at Wacken Open Air, Germany. The set will consist of three parts, which represent the band's creative power:

Part 1 will bring fans a classic ACCEPT set, packed with new and old hits.
Part 2 will present another premiere: Wolf Hoffmann will be playing tracks from his solo album Headbangers Symphony, released in 2016, with the Czech National Symphony Orchestra for the very first time. On this record, Wolf has covered famous opuses by composers such as Beethoven, Vivaldi, and Mozart, in a metal guise. And in Part 3, all elements can be seen and heard together: ACCEPT will make the holy Wacken ground shake by sharing the stage with the orchestra, supported by a complex multimedia show.

This unique concert experience will take place on this year's Night To Remember which makes it even more special. The Night To Remember is a celebrated, long-lasting Wacken tradition; for one night of the festival a selection of established bands will do something unique and special with their performance.

Wolf Hoffmann stated: "It's always impressive to see how bands take this evening seriously and how much love the artists and the organising team put into their work to get a varied result. It's a great tradition which underlines and documents the top-notch level of the international rock community like nothing else. We also want to present something that ACCEPT has never done before, we hope we can give something really special to the fans."

"ACCEPT have been and are still a very important part of Germany's heavy metal scene. We're really looking forward to having them with us once more. With this epic concept, the Thursday evening will be one to remember for sure," stated Thomas Jensen, organizer of Wacken Open Air.

Established in 2015, OKILLY DOKILLY - the world's first "Nedal" band fully based on Ned Flanders - found success before even playing their first show, becoming a viral phenomenon after releasing just a few press photos and a four-song demo. Within two weeks, the band garnered nearly 30,000 Facebook fans. In 2016, OKILLY DOKILLY independently released their debut record, Howdilly Doodilly, which landed at #4 on the Billboard comedy album chart. The music video for the band's first single "White Wine Spritzer" amassed one million views in a few short weeks, and to date, has just shy of two million views.
2017 saw OKILLY DOKILLY's first lineup change as original guitarist Stead Ned and original bassist Thread Ned found themselves indefinitely interned in the Calmwood Mental Hospital after months of relentless left-handed conversion therapy. New members Cred Ned and Dead Ned have since joined the band's ranks.
OKILLY DOKILLY's live shows are high energy affairs that weave between comedy and brutality. It's not uncommon to see fans throwing back white wine spritzers while pummeling and crowd surfing a giant inflatable donut.
"Okilly Dokilly, Phoenix's self-professed "world's first Nedal band," have got you covered, kicking out righteous riffs while clad in the traditional green sweater, pink shirt, and nerdy glasses of Homer Simpson's eternally cheerful and devoutly Christian neighbor." - Peter Helman, Stereogum.com
"Their sound... is solid, formulaic metal, with soft, almost classically-voiced verses slashed by the requisite screaming choruses. Let's just say Homer Simpson might think twice about calling them "Stupid Flanders(es)" after hearing it." - Steve Huff, Maxim.com
"...we have a feeling you'll be nodding your head faster than you can say hi-diddly-ho." - Anthony Domanico, CNET.com
"My spell check is intent on correcting 'Dokilly' to 'docilely', but docile they are not, with their music revolving around crunchy, lo-fi guitar and shrill, lurching synth." - Christopher Hooton, Independent.co.uk
Head Ned - vocals, screams, guitars, bass, mandolin, percussion
Red Ned - synth, vocals
Dead Ned - guitar
Cred Ned - bass
Bled Ned - drums

Chicago-based band Rise Against’s most recent album is The Black Market, which hit No. 1 on the Alternative, Top Rock and Hard Rock albums charts. Alternative Press awarded The Black Market four stars, noting, “Whatever meaning you take from them [the songs]…one thing remains solid—the sheer heart with which they were forged and the very visceral emotion they contain” and Kerrang praised the album as “a magnificent wake-up call.” Rise Against is Tim McIlrath (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Zach Blair (lead guitar), Joe Principe (bass) and Brandon Barnes (drums).

GOATWHORE will release their anticipated Vengeful Ascension full-length worldwide on June 23rd via Metal Blade Records. The band's seventh full-length and second recorded reel-to-reel, Vengeful Ascension was captured at Earth Analog in Tolono, Illinois near Champaign with longtime soundman and comrade Jarrett Pritchard (1349, Gruesome).
The ten-track, forty-one-minute production - mixed by Chris Common (Tribulation, Pelican) and mastered by Maor Applebaum (Faith No More, Halford, Today Is The Day) - marches in, clutches its listeners by the throat and refuses to loosen its grip until the abrupt conclusion of "Those Who Denied God's Will." A sonic manifestation of war, chaos, desolation, and emotional conflict, seamlessly bridging twenty years of the band's signature brand of audio venom, it's a record that finds its members at their most accomplished both individually and as a cohesive unit. Guitarist Sammy Duet's dense, sub nuclear riff work and possessed solo blitzes are at their most devastating spiraling flawlessly and instinctually around drummer Zack Simmons' and bassist James Harvey's hammering rhythms while vocalist Ben Falgoust's distinctly commanding roar, his acidic prose more enunciated than ever before, complimenting the apocalyptic proceedings.
Vengeful Ascension will be available on CD, vinyl (in multiple limited color variations), and digital formats. Various Vengeful Ascension preorder options are currently available at
metalblade.com/goatwhore where you can also sample the record's title track.

Hailing from the fringes of the cosmos, Arcadea, will make their arrival known in 2017 with a debut, self-titled album due out on June 16th. Today, the synth/psych band has announced they have inked a deal with Relapse Records to release the record. Pre-orders and new music will be announced in the coming weeks.
Stream Arcadea’s previously released song “Gas Giant” now at
Arcadea was born when drummer-vocalist Brann Dailor (Mastodon) teamed up with upside-down guitarist & keyboardist Core Atoms (Zruda) to create a synth-laden progressive, heavy psych band. Adding guitarist Raheem Amlani (Withered) on synth, the three recorded their visionary,10 song synth odyssey at Orange Peel Studios in Atlanta, GA. The self-titled debut record will see its release via Relapse Records this June.
Unlike their other bands, Arcadea uses only keyboards in a unique blend of crushing, organic drums and psychedelic synthesizers. The music is at once electronic but not electronica, synthetic but not processed, heavy but not metal.
The album envisions a future 5 billion years from now, where the impending collision of galaxies creates a new order of planets. Where cold, distant moons pledge alliance to new suns and expanding gas giants implode into black holes. Ancient drones, forever adrift, record toxic tales of love between dying stars. Where lifeforms in suspended animation, dream among the ice rings of Saturn and cosmic war wages among gods and planets. It is in this universe that Arcadea reign supreme as the last surviving space wizards since the final extinction.

Issue two of Claudio Sanchez’s comic series/space odyssey, The Amory Wars: Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV was released today via Evil Ink Comics/Boom! Studios.  The 12-issue sci-fi series is the 3rd in a line of comics that follow the story arc from Sanchez’s band, Coheed and Cambria’s concept albums.  The new series loosely follows the lyrics and tone of their platinum-selling 2005 album, Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness (Columbia), and elaborates on the graphic novel of the same name which was released as a companion piece to the album on it’s original release. Purchase issues one and two now at http://www.evilinkcomics.com/.

The story of Good Apollo flows around protagonist Claudio Kilgannon (son of Coheed and Cambria) who until now has been mostly in hiding since the death of his parents; his advancing physical powers have drawn him out.  It’s becoming clear to Kilgannon and those around him that the he is one mentioned in the prophecies, sent by God to destroy the universe he lives in because too many mistakes were made by the elite. But to Kilgannon, none of this makes any sense. Ambellina, the blue-skinned fallen Prise whose mission it is to watch over him – helps guide him on the decisions he has in front of him.
Evil Tri-Mage Wilhelm Ryan is out to stop Kilgannon, and harness every last human soul to energize his ultimate power “Good Apollo..” introduces a character “Ryder," the writer of the fiction, who is beginning to lose his own hold on reality, as his heartbreak in life is beginning to affect the fictional story, and causing him to lose control of his characters as they pursue their own free will.
In issue 2,  Ambellina and Chase are convinced that Claudio is The Crowing, and after the latest incident, it’s tough for him to argue otherwise.  But how can one simply accept that his fate is to destroy all things? Ryder’s hallucinations are getting worse, pushing him to the brink of madness. Ryan has nearly been killed twice now, and feels he might have a even bigger purpose than merely ruling over civilization...  Inferno has another plan to defeat Ryan, and this time Claudio wants nothing to do with it.
Claudio Sanchez, with the help of wife, writer Chondra Echert, veteran comic artist Rags Morales (Action Comics, Identity Crisis) and colorist Emilio Lopez have delivered a eye popping, complex thriller for both long time fans to delve deep into the Coheed/Amory Wars mythos as well as a smooth entry point for new riders to climb aboard for the ride.
Coheed and Cambria have always done things in a grandiose way, and this time is no different.  The comic release, though years in the making, dropped the very same month they embark on the 6 week “Neverender GAIBSIV tour (which is about half way completed) performing the progressive juggernaut of an album that inspired it, Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, in its entirety across the US and Europe. And over the last two weeks, they released the album’s vinyl for the very first time both on Record Store Day and through the band’s website, where thousands of copies became sold out in less than 30 mins.
The Neverender GAIBSIV tour is supported by The Dear Hunter, and includes performances at festivals including Carolina Rebellion and Rock on the Range.

DYING FETUS Share "Panic Amongst The Herd" Music Video

The early discography of one of the all-time great/influential extreme metal bands will be getting an overhaul. On June 9th, the Kreator’s first four classic releases will be reissued via BMG as expanded and remastered editions - 1985’s ‘Endless Pain,’ 1986’s ‘Pleasure to Kill,’ 1987’s ‘Terrible Uncertainty,’ and 1989’s ‘Extreme Aggression’ - available in digital, vinyl, and CD formats.

Endless Pain - smarturl.it/EndlessPain
Pleasure to Kill - smarturl.it/PleasureToKill
Terrible Certainty - smarturl.it/TerribleCertainty
Extreme Aggression - smarturl.it/ExtremeAggression

‘Endless Pain’ was released in October 1985 by Noise Records. It was a savage debut; its crude thrashing quickly had the underground metal world abuzz with excitement. This album has been known to be viewed as a pivotal album to black metal bands that enjoy thrash metal elements, ultimately creating a thrash-influenced black metal sound.

Unleashed in 1986 and still considered the band's first "classic" album, ‘Pleasure to Kill’ raised the bar with more diversity of tempos and greater attention to technical execution, while losing nothing in terms of ferocity or speed. The band closed out the year with the “Flag of Hate” EP (named after a re-recorded version of their earliest hit), which is included on this version.

Originally released in 1987, ‘Terrible Certainty’ did nothing to dent the perception that Kreator were one of the genre’s best bands, and for once, singer/guitarist Mille Petrozza had a little time to work out the songs beforehand. Kreator beefed up to a quartet once again with the addition of guitarist Jörge Trebziatowski.

The fourth album by Kreator, Extreme Aggression was released in 1989. This album introduced many American fans to Kreator, primarily through heavy rotation of the "Betrayer" music video on MTV's Headbangers Ball, which was partly shot at the Acropolis in Athens, Greece.

Formed in Essen, Germany in 1984, Kreator are arguably the most influential and successful European thrash metal band ever, like many of their European speed metal brethren, Kreator fused Metallica's thrash innovations with Venom's proto-black metal imagery.
Kreator are often credited with helping pioneer death metal and black metal by containing several elements of what was to become those genres. The band has achieved worldwide sales of over two million units for combined sales of all their albums, making them one of the best-selling German thrash metal bands of all time.
Kreator's style has changed several times over the years, from a Venom-inspired speed metal sound, later moving in to thrash metal, and including a period of transitioning from thrash to industrial metal and gothic metal throughout the 1990s. In the early 2000s, Kreator returned to their classic thrash sound, which has continued to the present.

And soon, metal fans worldwide will get the chance to re-experience Kreator with these expanded/definitive versions of their first four releases.

Lakeshore just released their music video for “History” on Rocksound.  History is taken from the band’s upcoming EP, 41, set to release later this year.
Guitarist, Ben Lionetti says, “The first single "History" is about Joe and I's history in music and really an ode to Emmure. It is a very personal song. We wanted to be very direct in what we said about the past as well as take a strong stand on what we intend for the future. We try to be positive and meaningful when we write music, yet have each and every listener be able to apply it to their own life, if it can help in anyway."

Released in 1987, Triumph And Agony is the fourth studio album from German heavy metal titans WARLOCK. The record was a mammoth success globally with hit singles and MTV's Headbangers Ball favorites "All We Are" and "Für immer" among other now-pinnacle anthems like "East Meets West," "Metal Tango," "I Rule The Ruins," and "Touch Of Evil." Triumph And Agony stands among heavy metal's true cult classics.

Gushed Decibel Magazine of the zenith offering, "Triumph And Agony contains one glorious anthem after another for the duration of its (too short) forty-minute run time. 'All We Are' is the big fist-pumper, their 'Rock You Like A Hurricane' or 'You've Got Another Thing Comin'.'  'Three Minute Warning' absolutely scorches, something Accept would have been proud to write. 'I Rule The Ruins' lays waste to everything and THEN rules it. 'Kiss Of Death' provides the requisite tragic vampire soliloquy, and 'Make Time For Love' provides the requisite drama ballad. 'East Meets West' taps some serious spine with its love letter to the Land Of The Rising Sun, while 'Metal Tango' may be the only, well, metal tango. And then there's 'Touch Of Evil,' which ends with one of the most astonishing vulgar displays of screeching ever recorded."

And three decades later, the record has lost none of its charm. In honor of its 30th anniversary, this September, WARLOCK vocalist Doro Pesch will, for the first time ever, perform the fist-raising full-length in its entirety on two European festival dates this Summer and a special run of US live performances. Joined by original Triumph And Agony guitarist Tommy Bolan alongside bassist Nick Douglas, drummer Johnny Dee, guitarist Bas Maas and guitarist/keyboardist Luca Princiotta, Pesch will hit Worcester, New York City, Detroit, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

"Triumph And Agony was our breakthrough album in America," issues Pesch, "and it's still one of my absolute favorites! I'm so excited to play some of these songs for the first time and I'm so much looking forward to play with Tommy again. I'm sure it's gonna sound great and we'll put on a killer show."

Produced by longtime collaborator – and multiple GRAMMY® Award nominee – Kevin Churko (Five Finger Death Punch, Ozzy Osbourne), RITUAL sees In This Moment pushing their inimitably dark sound forward with a provocative sense of pervading doom and metallic blues power.

Highlights include a dramatic reimagination of Phil Collins' classic "In The Air Tonight" as well as "Black Wedding," a walk down the aisle of musical madness that sees lead singer Maria Brink sharing the mic with legendary Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford.
"It's like we're going into the next realm," says Brink. "I had a conviction of feeling empowered in my life and with myself. I always write from a personal place, and I needed to share that sense of strength. I've never been afraid to hold back. Sometimes, I can be very suggestive. However, I wanted to show our fans that this is the most powerful side of myself and it's without overt sexuality. It's that deeper serious fire inside of my heart."
"When fans hear this, I want them to feel the music, whether they take away sadness, anger, or happiness," adds lead guitarist Chris Howorth. "As a kid, I remember listening to records and putting them on repeat over and over again. I'd love for the world to listen and absorb this as a piece of work."
In This Moment will herald RITUAL on a major North American tour, beginning June 20 at Peoria, IL's Limelight and featuring support by such like-minded bands as Motionless In White, Vimic, Little Miss Nasty, and Starset. For complete details and ticket information, please visit
As if that weren't enough, In This Moment are also set for two exciting support dates, joining Avenged Sevenfold on June 19 at Mt. Pleasant, MI's Soaring Eagle Casino and Papa Roach on June 23 at El Paso, TX's Streetfest.
The upcoming dates follow the just-wrapped "Half God Half Devil Tour," the nearly sold out trek marking In This Moment's first full-scale live assault since serving as special guest on last year's blockbuster "Return of the Dreads Tour" with Korn and Rob Zombie. The band's own hugely successful "Black Widow" headline tour included a wide range of sold out shows and stage-stealing festival appearances.
In This Moment made a stunning top 10 chart debut with 2015's acclaimed BLACK WIDOW. The band’s fifth full-length release arrived at #8 on the SoundScan/Billboard 200, while also entering Billboard's "Hard Rock Albums" tally at #3 – both marking In This Moment's highest chart placement to date.
BLACK WIDOW features a string of rock radio hits, including "Sick Like Me," "Big Bad Wolf," "Sex Metal Barbie," and "The Fighter." Official companion videos – all co-directed by In This Moment' own Maria Brink – are streaming now at the band's official
YouTube channel.

Furthermore, the title track off In This Moment's 2012 album, BLOOD, has been certified gold by the RIAA. A remarkable accomplishment, the companion music video for "Blood" has been viewed over 27 million times.
Known worldwide for their dramatic live performances, In This Moment have received rapturous praise in a range of national outlets. "One of the most unique, diverse and theatrical live acts you could witness in heavy music today," raved Loudwire. "Not only are they a powerhouse sonically but visually they are beyond captivating. With a bigger label backing them for BLACK WIDOW, the production, sound and overall professional level of their concert experience has been elevated."

Legendary Hard Rock vocalist Mark Slaughter has announced the upcoming release of his sophomore solo release HALFWAY THERE, being released in MAY Worldwide via EMP LABEL GROUP, the US based label of Megadeth bassist David Ellefson. HALFWAY THERE, the follow up to 2015’s independently released REFLECTIONS IN A REAR VIEW MIRROR, is a stunning return to form for Slaughter, channeling the familiar Hard Rock sensibility of classic-era SLAUGHTER releases like Stick it to Ya and The Wild Life on “Hey You” and emotionally-charged title track “Halfway There”, with a mature, progressive, Metal bent, evidenced on cuts like “Devoted”, “Conspiracy”, and “Reckless”.

Produced and co-mixed by Slaughter with John Cranfield (AFI, Andy Grammer), with art by famed horror/album artist “Mister” Sam Shearon (Rob Zombie, Iron Maiden, KISS, Clive Barker) HALFWAY THERE is slated to be released May 26th in North America by EMP LABEL GROUP/AMPED, and EMP/SPV in Europe, and May 10th in Japan via EMP LABEL GROUP/UNIVERSAL.

Mark will tour Japan in May with Slaughter, supporting RATT, in conjunction with the Japanese release of the LP, with shows in Nagoya, Osaka, and a performance at the Tokyo Metal Summit, May 14th with Ratt, Sebastian Bach, E’nuff Z’nuff, and more.

Not only is HALFWAY THERE a blistering showcase of Slaughter’s seemingly never-ending vocal abilities, but a glowing testament to his perpetually underserved prowess as a songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, handling all production, engineering, songwriting, arrangements, guitar, and the bulk of the album’s instrumentation himself.

Slaughter says, “My first solo record (Reflections in a Rear View Mirror) was kinda getting back on the horse, so to speak. I mean doing everything and recording... I’m taking on a lot more tasks as an engineer/producer/ writer on all this… because I’m doing everything. Ultimately at the end of the day, anybody who is a SLAUGHTER fan, will certainly understand that I am a large part of the Slaughter sound and vibe, so obviously if you like that, it’s in there. It’s just that I take a lot more liberties on the solo side that I probably wouldn’t do when it’s a group effort.”

He adds, “The record is basically.. I spend a lot of time writing songs and things just grow out of me.. Ill be woken up in the middle of the night from nowhere and the song’s just in my head and I just exorcize the demons and there you have it. I guess what it is is, an artist makes art. And I’ve really come to the fact that since we haven’t made a Slaughter record in so long, it’s one of those things that I still have to make the art. That’s what I do. That’s what I love to do, and that’s what I’ll continue to do.”

EMP A&R director Thom Hazaert chimes in, “It’s been such an incredible honor to put this record together with Mark, who truly, in my humble opinion, is one of the greatest Hard Rock singers and songwriters of our generation, and, what a lot of people don’t realize, just a phenomenal player as well. We spent almost a year going back and forth about the idea of putting the record out together, obviously Mark and David (Ellefson) have a great longstanding friendship, so it really was an amazing fit.

From the first time I heard the working demos of these songs, I knew Mark was working on something very, very special. Growing up (and still) a huge Slaughter fan, I think these songs are going to not only resonate with the people who already love Mark and what he does, but carve a niche far beyond.“

Ellefson adds, “I have been friends with Mark for over 30 years, since he was in Vinnie Vincent Invasion, and there’s a lot of shared history. So when we started talking about the idea of putting this record out, yes, it was a great and natural fit. Mark is such a tremendous talent and songwriter, and the scope of that is truly evident on Halfway There. We’re extremely proud, and excited, to have been able to partner with him on it, and can’t wait for the World to hear it.”
