Skeletonwitch hit us with the second track "When Paradise Fades" from their forthcoming album, Devouring Radiant Light out July 20th on Prosthetic Records. The band's guitarist Nate Garnette calls it "a supercharged nano-epic that takes you from greasy rock n roll, to off-the-rails blackened destruction and beyond." He further explains, "I tried to keep the intensity and grit front-and-center while making it a journey instead of a two-minute banger." The track debuted over at
Kerrang! who describe "the band edges deeper into black metal territory than ever before, with blastbeats, guitar tremolo, and atmospheric intros aplenty."

While black metal has always been a recognizable component of the Skeletonwitch DNA, Devouring Radiant Light sees the band crashing headlong into the subgenre like never before. And where Skeletonwitch previously ran its output through a Second Wave Black Metal filter, Devouring incorporates a strong atmospheric influence. Bergtatt-era Ulver and Cascadian black metal lineage are palpable. But the expansion of influence does not stop there.

They've succeeded where many have failed: they have reformulated their sound mid-career with dizzyingly triumphant results. Since their inception over a decade ago, Skeletonwitch have been known for blending and bending metal subgenres. The members' collective love of Judas Priest, classic-era Metallica and Immortal has always been worn on their sleeves and remains evident. However, it's the band's blacker leanings that have shifted to the forefront and altered the tenor of the through line on this latest offering.

Devouring Radiant Light was recorded by Converge guitarist and engineering deity Kurt Ballou (High on Fire, Kvelertak, Chelsea Wolfe) at GodCity Studio in Salem, MA. The band's rapport with Ballou provided the familiarity necessary to embrace uncharted creative territory. Melodeath genre architect Fredrik Nordström (Opeth, At the Gates) mixed the album at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden. The record was mastered by Brad Boatright of metallic hardcore greats From Ashes Rise at Audiosiege Engineering in Portland, OR.

Just after a long spring North American run with Obituary and Pallbearer, Skeletonwitch ready a European tour in support of Devouring Radiant Light this month. U.S. fall dates with System of a Down and At The Drive-In have been confirmed. Check below for a full list and stay tuned for more.

Undoubtedly one of the top hard rock tours of the springtime will be the teaming of Sevendust and Madame Mayhem on a trek throughout the U.S. - beginning on April 21 in El Paso, TX, and wrapping up on June 1 in Sioux City, IA (with more dates coming soon). A true rocker with an eclectic style in every aspect of life, Madame Mayhem merges theatricality with hard-hitting, rocking tunes. And paired with Sevendust, this bill will certainly be one hot ticket.

“Really excited to get back on the road and play!,” says Mayhem. “This tour is going to be so much fun. The band and I are thrilled to be supporting SEVENDUST on this run, those guys are like family to us. For this U.S. run, we will be supporting SEVENDUST on their tour,  as well as playing some headlining shows of our own in between. These will be shows you will not want to miss. Can't wait to get on stages and rock out with the crowds, while continuing to spread the music from our newest album, ‘Ready For Me,’ to the masses.”

Mayhem’s new killer music video, for the track “War You Started,” was recently unveiled - serving as just one of the many standout rockers from her latest album, ‘Ready for Me’ (issued via Metalville label in the UK and Europe, and HeadBall Records in the US), “War You Started” certainly passes the test in concert, as the singer explains, “’War You Started’ is the first track on the album, ‘Ready For Me.’ It's also one of my favorites to kick off our sets with since it's hard hitting, high energy, and gets not only the crowd moving, but us moving and excited as well.”

Written by Madame Mayhem, Corey Lowery (who also produced the album), and Clint Lowery (Sevendust), the video stands apart from previous videos. “The ‘War You Started’ music video is different from my others. It's the first music video I have shot with my touring band. We had so much fun during the video shoot. We actually made the video in Atlanta right between our US and UK/European tours. The music video was directed and edited by guitarist Gogi Randhawa. It was cool to have a band member direct and be in the video at the same time. I am so happy with how it came out and thrilled that viewers can see the energy myself and the band put into performing.” The clip can be viewed in all its explosive glory via this link:

The singer has performed across the United States to packed rooms, including B.B. King Blues Club, The Roxy, The Viper Room, Bowery Ballroom, Knitting Factory, a residency at The Cutting Room, the Bluebird Café during Grammy nomination week, Shiprocked Cruise 2017 and 2018, Sunfest 2017, Sturgis Buffalo Chip 2017, and has performed on national tours with renowned and respected artists such as Doro, Mushroomhead, and just completed extensive tour of Europe with Fozzy.

Madame Mayhem has been covered in both fashion and rock music media worldwide, which includes feature coverage in Aquarian Weekly, Brave Words, Fashion Style, Gannett, Guitar World, KNAC, Loudwire (her music videos have been top 10 for multiple weeks), New Noise, Revolver, The Day In Rock, listed in ROCKwell UnScene Magazine’s top 5 Best Female Vocalists of 2016, and more. Additionally, she made most added on the CMJ Loud Radio Charts with over 60 stations nationally in the United States. Also, she has been mentioned in Modern Drummer and is on the latest cover of Black Velvet Magazine.

Soon, lucky U.S. fans will get the opportunity to experience Madame Mayhem on a nearby concert stage - with Sevendust!

20 years since the release of their debut album and 20 million album sales later, GODSMACK are an even stronger animal than before. The proof is in the grooves of WHEN LEGENDS RISE, their first album in four years that's due out April 27 via BMG and marking their debut on the label. The album is available for pre-order now (here) with instant grat track, "Bulletproof."
Arriving to radio today, February 28, the first single is "Bulletproof," which shows the band--Sully Erna [vocals, guitar], Tony Rombola [guitar], Robbie Merrill [bass], and Shannon Larkin [drums]--doubling down on their combination of tightly wound riffs, rhythmic fury, naked emotions and pushed-to-the-edge vocals, all fired up with melodic precision and tight songcraft. An official music video is coming soon.
What inspired the songs on WHEN LEGENDS RISE? "It was just about evolving as a songwriter," says singer and songwriter Sully Erna. "I wanted to stretch my wings out even further to use all the experiences I've had with writing different types of music over the years and applying that to find a way to introduce a newer, fresher, more mature sound, but still maintaining the power of Godsmack."
WHEN LEGENDS RISE, the band's seventh studio album, was recorded at their headquarters (GSHQ) in Derry, New Hampshire and produced by Erik Ron and Sully Erna. Sonically intense and layered, it pushes the band forward and kicks off with the title track which begins with tribal-style drums and lethal riffs. "When Legends Rise" speaks to "the band and our journey," says Erna."It's been an amazing road we have traveled through all the ups and downs. But being able to conquer those challenging times with alcohol and egos and everything else that can tear a band apart is what we are the most proud of.  To be able to stand strong again and do it better than we ever have. It's about burning it down and building it back up. It's the Phoenix rising from the ashes!"
Emotions run strong on "Bulletproof." Says Erna: "I always write about things that have affected me on an emotional level. I think everyone knows that about me by now. But if I choose to do that, I have to be prepared to be honest and vulnerable. And so the challenge is figuring out how 'exposed' you want to be with personal information. But I've also learned over the years that for me, being transparent, even to the point of embarrassment sometimes, is so much better than holding it inside and extending that pain longer than you need to. 'Bulletproof' is just another moment in my life when I allowed myself to be vulnerable and got hurt. It's this kind of carelessness from other people that eventually hardens you and forces you to put up that wall to protect yourself.  So when and if they circle back around and try to get back in, you make yourself bulletproof."
Another album standout is the anthemic "Unforgettable" with its towering, massive sound and some special vocal guests. "It's my favorite song on the record," says Erna. "And thanks to an organization I work with called C.A.T.S. (Community Alliance for Teen Safety) that focuses on helping young kids stay on the right path, I invited a bunch of kids from the DERRY Middle Schools of New Hampshire to sing with me which I feel really brought this song over the top! They were incredible, and the song is Unforgettable!!"
WHEN LEGENDS RISE is also highlighted by the powerful string-laden ballad "Under Your Scars." "I come from a very broad background in music," explains Erna.  "My great uncle was a famous composer in Sicily, and my dad is still a musician and runs an Italian band in the Boston area. So as I've grown over the years as an artist, I've regressed back to ALL TYPES of music and instruments I love working with and composing. So I called upon my dear friend Irina Chirkova to lay down the cello parts and Zvezdelina Haltakova (both from Bulgaria) did all the violin parts for me. And I really feel that this specific track will be something people will gravitate towards since it's the first real ballad we've put on a Godsmack record. I think like it or not, they will gravitate towards it to explore it out of curiosity. But again, it's about taking risks and expanding."
WHEN LEGENDS RISE follows the success of 2014's 1,000 HP, which entered the Top Billboard 200 chart at #3, with two #1 debuts (Billboard Top Alternative Albums: #1 Billboard Top Hard Rock Albums: #1).
One of rock's most explosive live acts,GODSMACK will perform at seven U.S. festivals, between April 27 and July 14 (see the dates below), to be followed later this year by a major outdoor amphitheater tour (details TBA).

LIGHT THE TORCH (formerly DEVIL YOU KNOW) release new song "Calm Before The Storm"

Globally renowned, chart-topping band DEVILDRIVER may be one of the most notable groups in metal, but their personal taste in music reaches far beyond heavy music. Thanks to widely lauded albums like 2005's epoch-shredding The Fury Of Our Maker's Hand, 2011's ante-upping, ultra-brutal Beast and 2016's acclaimed career peak Trust No One, the band - led by iconic vocalist Dez Fafara - are firmly established as one of the most consistent and best loved bands in modern metal. That said, in 2018, all expectations of who and what DEVILDRIVER are will be torched.
As first teased by Fafara last year, the band's upcoming full-length album of outlaw country-gone-metal anthems, Outlaws 'Til The End, will finally see its day. The highly-anticipated, monstrous collection of savage metal interpretations will be released via Napalm Records on July 6, 2018, and pre-orders are available now in multiple formats via with more format options coming soon. Merchandise such as t-shirts, long-sleeve shirts, flasks, keychains, and more are available here:
Head to Rolling Stone Country now to hear a clip of DEVILDRIVER's cover of Hank3's "Country Heroes", featuring Hank3 himself, and read all about Outlaws 'Til The End:
Outlaws 'Til The End is both a startling curveball and a ferocious statement of individuality from a band who have been a constant and effective force in the heavy metal world for the best part of two decades now. "I think real music has always gotten to me, whether it's the blues or even real Goth music like Bauhaus and Sisters Of Mercy, as well as outlaw country greats like Johnny Cash, Wayne "The Train" Hancock, and Willie Nelson," Fafara explains. "That stuff has always attracted me, and this is absolutely the real McCoy. The blues and outlaw country are what made rock n' roll. They were around before rock n' roll... and in my head, I've always heard these songs heavy."
From the opening seconds of Hank3's"Country Heroes" onward, Outlaws 'Til The End is simply one of the most invigorating records the band have made yet. More importantly, these evocative, irresistible songs have all been wholly rebuilt from the ground up, powered by the classic DEVILDRIVER sound and embellished with Fafara's unmistakable feral roar. Outlaws 'Til The End was produced, mixed and recorded with Steve Evetts (Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die, Sepultura, The Cure), with Devildriver guitarist Mike Sprietzer also lending recording talents. The album was mastered by renowned engineer Alan Douches.
Completing this unprecedented project is a host of metal and country luminaries providing unforgettable cameos: horror metal icon Wednesday13 lends his incensed rasp to George Jones' "If Drinking Don't Kill Me", 36 Crazyfists frontman Brock Lindow brings fire and soul to Steve Earle's, "Copperhead Road", and Fear Factory's Burton C. Bell helps to turn Richard Thompson's anti-war classic, "Dad's Gonna Kill Me", into a brooding gothic metal extravaganza. Meanwhile, Lamb of God members Randy Blythe and Mark Morton contribute to an exhilarating decimation of Willie Nelson's "Whiskey River" before Randy makes a second appearance on DEVILDRIVER's version of cowboy standard "Ghost Riders In The Sky"; the latter featuring the son of Johnny Cash himself.

"I knew right away that I wanted to have guests on this record, and the first guest I wanted was John Carter Cash," Fafara recalls. "I didn't want this thing to exist without John, without Hank3 or without Randy [Blythe]. Basically, there were a certain amount of guests that I definitely wanted on it, but as I kept asking people, everyone kept saying yes! Randy and Mark [Morton] are both from the country and they were immediately on board. With John, we wound up talking for two hours when we first met, all about his love of heavy metal and my love of outlaw country and my love of his dad's music. All he wanted to do was talk about metal and all I wanted to do was talk about outlaw country. It was the craziest thing."
Not only just content with a collaboration with John Carter Cash, the album also features the iconic voice of Fear, US punk rock legend Lee Ving. "Lee has a country band called Range War and when he first started in music, his mother gave him her mandolin to play, so he played country music before he ever did punk rock," Fafara notes. "I've been fortunate enough in my career to do songs with Ozzy and some of the greats, but doing a song with Lee Ving? What can I say... he's my ultimate hero in life. I had a Fear shirt on the first time I ran away from home, you know?"
Still charging forward, proudly against the grain and on the form of their lives, DEVILDRIVER have never made a record like Outlaws 'Til The End before. But then, nor has anyone else. The perfect marriage of badass country grit and neck-wrecking groove metal supremacy, it's a pistol-packing game-changer delivered by true heavy metal outlaws.
Stay tuned for more new music and videos coming soon in anticipation of Outlaws 'Til The End.

This summer, ARMORED SAINT will embark on a North American tour commemorating their classic Symbol Of Salvation full-length. On this special thirteen-date run, the band will perform the record in its entirety, with select shows to be recorded for a live DVD. Support will be provided by labelmates Act Of Defiance. See all confirmed dates below.
Frontman John Bush comments: "Symbol Of Salvation! Arguably ARMORED SAINT's most important record. These songs came out of us being dropped from Chrysalis Records and finding out about guitarist Dave Prichard developing Leukemia. The songs took on a much more emotional meaning than any other previous record. We wrote songs of desperation like 'Another Day' and 'Last Train Home,' experimental tunes like 'Tainted Past' and 'The Truth Always Hurts,' and classic SAINT rockers like 'Reign Of Fire,' 'Dropping Like Flies,' and the title track. After Dave passed, the band regrouped with Phil and Jeff returning as the guitar tandem. It was a family again. Dave Jerden produced the record and this marked the beginning of Joey becoming the producer of the band. It's going to be a memorable tour. Songs like 'Burning Question' and 'Spineless' we've never played live before. Come share it with us. Let's make Dave proud."

After being dropped by Chrysalis Records in 1988, ARMORED SAINT began writing for a new record and searched for a new label. During 1989, founding guitarist/songwriter Dave Prichard was diagnosed with Leukemia. In January 1990, Prichard was hospitalized for a bone marrow transplant but succumbed to the treatment, passing away on February 28th, 1990. By this time, the band was writing as a four-piece, with Dave being the sole guitarist; they had written twenty-five songs and demoed all of them.
Metal Blade Records CEO/founder Brian Slagel approached ARMORED SAINT and offered a recording deal in late spring of 1990. They regrouped with original guitarist Phil Sandoval and Jeff Duncan, who was hired as a touring guitarist during a 1989 tour with King Diamond. The recording of this new album - which would become Symbol Of Salvation - began in the winter of 1990 with producer Dave Jerdan (Alice In Chains, Janes Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers), and it was engineered by Brain Carlstrom (Alice In Chains, The Offspring, Rob Zombie). During recording, the band used a guitar solo from a demo track played by Dave, and included it on the song "Tainted Past."

ARMORED SAINT toured with the likes of The Scorpions, Suicidal Tendencies, Wrathchild America, Sepultura, and more, in support of Symbol Of Salvation. Now, in 2018, the band brings back these classic tracks to the live setting, for fans to enjoy once again, in honor of Dave's memory.

Thrash metal band WarClown finishes new album with Juan Urteaga and Charlie Bonnet III

LIGHT THE TORCH (formerly known as DEVIL YOU KNOW) have released the song 'Calm Before The Storm' from their upcoming new album Revival.

Check it out here:

"'Calm Before the Storm' is just a fun song," said singer Howard Jones. "It pairs well with good friends and a road trip. We hope you'll enjoy putting it on repeat."

The band also recently started a series of webisodes about the album

Revival will be released via Nuclear Blast Entertainment on March 30. The band recently shared the song 'Die Alone', which opens the album.  Watch the video and listen

"'Die Alone' is basically a note I had written to myself a couple years ago, and it seemed to really fit the music," said frontman Howard Jones. "We are more than excited to release our album »Revival«, and we all feel it's been worth every bit of the struggle to get it done. See you all soon on the road."

The Los Angeles, CA trio — the aforementioned Jones, Francesco Artusato [guitar], and Ryan Wombacher [bass] — drew from five years together as DEVIL YOU KNOW to forge a wholly distinct path. Amidst myriad struggles, they returned from the brink under a new name.

"2016 was a really tough year for us as a band, both personally and professionally," explains Jones. "While going through some lineup changes, we were also battling some issues with the use of our band name. At the same time, I was trying to deal with the loss of my oldest brother, which really hit me hard. During that time, we just bonded like never before. We all meshed because we faced war together. We survived. At the end, we realized we were a real band and decided to make an album representing that resilience. Honestly, we came out of the dark. The name literally signifies what we went through."

"It was time for a change," the singer continues. "It was time for us to try and stretch our wings. We were really going for songs. The structuring made more sense. I was focused on melody and harmony. I really cut loose. All in all, it was the perfect storm. We had so much fun making this, because there were really no restrictions other than creating a heavy and catchy body of work."

The LIGHT THE TORCH lineup boasts one of the most esteemed pedigrees in modern heavy music. Jones spent a decade at the helm of GRAMMY® Award-nominated and gold-selling titans KILLSWITCH ENGAGE. Artusato had much-lauded stint in ALL SHALL PERISH and has attained status as a shred virtuoso.  Wombacher was a staple in BLEEDING THROUGH for well over a decade. For Revival, they are joined by EXTINCTION A.D. drummer Mike "Scuzz" Sciulara behind the kit.

Revival is available for pre-order
here.   The album artwork, pictured below, was designed by Artusato.

LIVING MACHINES Release Official Music Video for “Valkyrie V2”

Download 'I: After Onyx (Declassified Booster Pack)' NOW!

“Valkyrie V2” Premiered on

Chelsea Grin have dropped their new single "Dead Rose" from their upcoming album Eternal Nightmare, out this summer via Rise Records. The band will also appear on the entire Vans Warped Tour, which runs from June through August.

Listen to the new track +watch the video

The album is the first to feature new singer Tom Barber.

The brand new Chelsea Grin lineup is as follows:

Tom Barber – Vocals
David Flinn — Guitar
 Stephen Rutishauser — Bass
Pablo Viveros — Drums

The band will take over all Warped Tour social networks on Friday, May 4, as well.

Chelsea Grin have issued the following comprehensive statement regarding the new lineup and album.

"Shit-talkers, rejoice! There is a lot of news to be shared from the CG camp, much of it bittersweet. For some time now, our band has wandered through what felt like hell and back. Medical conditions, personal pressures, tour conflicts and more. It is not in our nature to let this get the best of us, so we always have and will carry on headstrong and determined.

"Alex Koehler has opted to part ways with the band following his recent time spent in rehab and the life changes he's made in newly found sobriety. We are all at a mutual understanding that the nomadic and trying nature of touring is much too volatile of an environment for a recovering alcoholic. He has made huge strides forward in shaping a new and positive lifestyle, and we will always do our part to support our friend and brother. We are still very close, of course, and it goes without saying that we wish him all the strength and willpower needed to continue his inspiring progress. We ask that all of you respectfully do the same for Alex.

"Furthermore, late last year Jacob Harmond parted ways with the band; you may have noticed via social media or on our most recent Never Say Die tour. Jacob recently had his second of two children, and has found his passion redirected toward family and personal goals. Again, his parting was carried out entirely amicably and with absolutely no hard feelings. As with Alex, we will forever support Jacob and his family, and will always remain close friends.

"Surely, this all comes as heavy news to our supporters and long time fans, but we want to confidently reassure that Chelsea Grin remains strong. During the recording process, we were faced with the challenge of pushing past obstacles to finish creating an album we were already so emotionally invested in. We had to weigh all options realistically, but abandoning our passion was never one. Our good friend and ally, Tom Barber, has stepped up to the plate to help us achieve a sound we had never imagined. His talent and drive allowed us a renewed energy, making the choice clear. Please provide Tom a warm welcome into the band, and saddle up for a darker, more aggressive sound than you've heard from us yet.

"At this point, we are done cycling faces through the band for both your sakes and ours; we will be carrying on live as a four-piece. After finding our strongest sound yet, we want to avoid confusion and a shift from the current creative focus, in addition to adding yet another face to a seemingly ever-changing lineup. We will absolutely be delivering the same crushing performance and presence as always.

"All of that being said, we present to you 'Dead Rose,' the first single off of our upcoming album, Eternal Nightmare. Welcome to a new era of Chelsea Grin.

"Catch us all summer long on Warped Tour at the Monster Mutant Red Dawn stage performing both new and old material. We assure you that you won't want to miss it."

ALICE IN CHAINS has announced the first run of must-see shows for 2018 – a North American headline tour that kicks off April 28th at the House of Blues in Boston. Dates are listed below and ticket info can be found HERE.

Knoxville, Tennessee, based thrash metal outfit, WarClown, recently finished tracking a new album with legendary engineer Juan Urteaga (Testament, Exodus, Machine Head) handling the post production duties.

The yet-to-be titled album, to be released this summer, features a guest vocal appearance from renowned Nashville rocker Charlie Bonnet III on the song "On The Shoulders Of Giants."

WarClown drummer Keith Feulner announced the collaboration on Facebook, stating "Just finished the last song with a great friend doing guest vocals.  This is gonna be huge!  Charlie Bonnet III, can't thank you enough for taking the 4 hour drive one way to add vocals to this new WarClown album.  We are so proud to have the legend make a stamp on this record."

Although now pursuing a full time career in southern rock and roots music, Bonnet has a large history in the heavy metal genre, fronting the Nashville based band Disarray since the early 1990's.  Disarray released many records, including the Dave Brockie (GWAR) produced In The Face Of The Enemy in 2002, and the Gary Meskil (Pro-Pain) produced Edge Of My Demise in 2007.  Bonnet was also the co-manager and publicist for Steve 'Zetro' Souza's band Hatriot from 2012-2014.

"Keith jammed with me in Disarray for a number of years, and is one of the best drummers I've ever worked with" states Bonnet.  "He recently played me some of the WarClown material, and I was blown away.  The last time I got to sing metal backups was on the Hatriot Heroes Of Origin record, so this was a lot of fun.  I play a different style of music for a living now, so I appreciate the WarClown guys bringing me out of heavy metal retirement, and least for a couple minutes" he says with a laugh.

"'The Valkyrie' is a song about the personal struggles we encounter when facing incredible challenges, yet finding solace by confiding in our closest friends. In our comic book series, this song takes places when James Gearheart and Luther Vance band together to try and end a war that is leading the human race towards extinction." - Quinn McGraw (drummer/vocalist, writer)
