CLUTCH ANNOUNCE WINTER PSYCHIC WARFARE TOUR DATES WITH DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT & THE OBSESSED
Philadelphia's Festival Pier welcomed Maryland rockers CLUTCH to their Summer concert series on July 29, 2017. From the stage, Neil Fallon, Tim Sult, Dan Maines, and Jean-Paul Gaster had the perfect view of the Delaware River, The Ben Franklin Bridge, and thousands of Clutch fans dancing and singing along to their hour plus set.
On the road with Primus, this tour has both bands performing a full headlining set! On this night, Clutch took to the stage first and opened with "Cyborg Bette" from their 2013 hit album "Earth Rocker". Clutch always performs a fun, high-energy show but man, seeing them in the Summer on a beach-like setting like Festival Pier, it was just an incredible night. Heavy hitters like "Crucial Velocity", "The Mob Goes Wild", and "Earth Rocker" had the Philly crowd going wild!
There definitely were two high points from my perspective. When Fallon pulled out the harmonica and cowbell as the band powered into "DC, Sound Attack!" all of us in attendance were dancing like we were at Woodstock or something. Gaster's drums and Fallon's aforementioned tools of the blues can make a dead man boogie! Simply the perfect Summer concert tune. The second highlight was when Fallon acknowledged that Clutch are working on a new album (following 2015's "Psychic Warfare") and introduced a new song called "How To Shake Hands". The heavily political song went over well with the Philly fans I spoke to. The person in the song who gets elected to the presidency vows to put Jimi Hendrix on the $20 bill and Bill Hicks on the $5 bill, and kiss all the babies. Very strong tune that makes me want to hear what else Fallon and Clutch will tap into for their next album.
This tour with Primus continues across America until August 18th. Definitely a fun night out!

Clutch May 8 in Reading, PA
Maryland rockers CLUTCH continue to tour as they promote their most recent smash album "Psychic Warfare". The band's eleventh studio album debuted #1 on the Billboard Top Rock album chart and #11 on the Billboard Top 200 album chart.
On May 8th Clutch (singer Neil Fallon, guitarist Tim Sult, drummer Jean-Paul Gaster, and bassist Dan Maines) came to the Santander Arena in Reading, PA along with headliners Lamb of God and openers Corrosion of Conformity. Needless to say the night was packed solid with incredible rock music!
Tonight the guys focused on tunes from "Psychic Warfare", opening the set with the lead single from the album, "X-ray Visions". Fallon's approach to the song is powerful and live he amps it up to full throttle. Thanks to the song we now know he's a Scorpio and man when he screams those lyrics in concert it's bone-shattering! Next in the set list was another "Psychic Warfare" track "Firebirds!" which continued the power rock and led into the killer track "Crucial Velocity" from 2013's album "Earth Rocker. Three stellar songs to kick off their set which also featured "Psychic Warfare" songs "Sucker For The Witch", "Your Love is Incarceration" and "Our Lady of Electric Light" (a song that when I interviewed Fallon late last year I compared to "House of the Rising Sun" by The Animals).
The Reading, PA Clutch fans were dancing and digging the whole set which included two more highs of the night, "Book, Saddle and Go" and the tremendous "Mob Goes Wild". And just like every Clutch performance I've seen, watching Fallon's expressions and intensity on stage is only matched by Gaster's energetic and animated drumming. Watching these two perform shows just how much fun top tier musicians like Clutch have when they are on top of their game.
