OZZFEST JAPAN

RETURNS TO MAKUHARI MESSE
NOVEMBER 21 AND 22

2015 TWO-DAY FESTIVAL
TO FEATURE HEADLINING PERFORMANCES FROM
OZZY OSBOURNE & FRIENDS AND KORN

EVANESCENCE AMONG MORE THAN 22 ACTS
ON FESTIVAL BILL

uSSex4Vl.jpg

OZZFEST JAPAN
--the first major international music festival to ever travel to Japan--will return to Makuhari Messe arena (just outside of Tokyo) Saturday, November 21 and Sunday, November 22.  The two-day festival will feature headlining performances from two OZZFEST veterans: festival namesake Ozzy Osbourne (who will perform as Ozzy & Friends) and Korn.  Evanescence is the first additional act to be announced for a festival bill that will include more than 22 performers.  OZZFEST JAPAN--a collaboration between Sharon Osbourne and Japanese promoter Hayashi International Promotion (H.I.P.)--debuted in May 2013 to sold-out crowds of 20,000 per day and wide critical acclaim.

Ozzy’s OZZFEST JAPAN performance is one of six shows the multi-platinum, three-time Grammy® winning singer and songwriter has scheduled this year.  Korn’s appearance is a highlight of the band’s 20th anniversary celebration.  Evanescence will both make their OZZFEST debut at OZZFEST JAPAN, in their only performance of 2015.  The remaining acts on the OZZFEST JAPAN lineup will be revealed later this year.  Organizers say fans can expect performances from a dynamic mix of international and domestic bands, all of which will reinforce OZZFEST JAPAN as the leader in the Japanese rock festival market.

Ozzy Osbourne has sold more than 120 million albums worldwide.  Osbourne's career has spanned more than four decades (as both a successful solo artist and as the lead singer of Black Sabbath) and his music is as relevant today as ever, still being heard daily on TV, in movies, on radio and at stadium sports events. This year will mark 20 years since Osbourne created his name-sake hard-rock/metal touring festival, OZZFEST, which had a hugely successful 14 year run across North America and the U.K.

Korn built an immortal bond in 1993 the first time Jonathan Davis, James "Munky" Shaffer, Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu, and Brian "Head" Welch decided to make music as a unit. They shed blood, sweat, and tears in the studio and on stage, fashioning an undeniable and unique sound that would permanently alter the course of rock music. After six seminal releases, two Grammy Awards, countless sold out shows, and selling 35 million albums worldwide, Head left the group in 2004 to face the demons of addiction. Korn soldiered on, adding drummer Ray Luzier in 2007 and releasing four more full-length releases. In 2012, a triumphant and tear-filled reunion happened on stage as the group headlined the Carolina Rebellion Festival with Head reprising his legendary part on "Blind.”  The initial bond came back into focus, and it was time for their eleventh studio album The Paradigm Shift, which seamlessly melds the group's ever-present spirit of innovation with their signature metallic catharsis, paving the way for the future yet again.

In their more than 35-year history in Japan, promoter H.I.P. has worked with international superstars including AC/DC, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Taylor Swift, Guns N' Roses, as well as Japanese powerhouse newcomers Momoiro Clover Z and internationally celebrated band One Ok Rock.  Most recently, H.I.P. partnered with Slipknot to launch their acclaimed music festival, Knotfest, in Japan, which drew sold out crowds each day.

OZZFEST JAPAN 2015 ticket prices are as follows: single-day general admission tickets are ¥15,000; single-day general admission tickets including a commemorative shirt are ¥18,000; weekend passes are ¥29,000; weekend passes including a commemorative t-shirt are ¥32,000.  All prices include consumption tax, box office commission and ticket printing fees.  The latest news on OZZFEST JAPAN can be found at www.ozzfestjapan.com

VIRGIN STEELE
Change the title of New Studio Album to

 Nocturnes of Hellfire & Damnation

VIRGIN STEELE will release their new album this summer on SPV/Steamhammer.  The title has been changed to Nocturnes of Hellfire & Damnation and the album will now have three different versions of the cover art.  Front man David Defeis speaks on the new album:

"Our new album which is called "NOCTURNES OF HELLFIRE & DAMNATION", is not a concept album per se, but there is a through line that connects the tracks. The lyrics essentially deal with relationship issues and by that I mean.... the connections between entities.... as in all sorts of beings, not only human beings...but also Gods & Goddesses, Spirits, Elements, or whatever, plus various creatures, animal, vegetable and or mineral, but largely the album is about connections between people. People and their belief systems, people and their Gods or Goddesses...people and their life philosophies and also the various substances we invest or inject into our daily or nightly rituals and our worldview, and all the complexities of what drives us, makes us who we are and takes us where we may...or may not be going. To sum it up this album is about.... all the various ways in which humans can entangle themselves, or destroy themselves...so the album's title essentially encompasses what the vibe of the whole Work is about. The title relates to the album in the way that the title "NOBLE SAVAGE", or "AGE OF CONSENT", expressed each of those particular Works. The title provides a framework and connective tissue, but each song is really its own thing.

Musically the album is pretty heavy, high energy, often dark, at turns melancholy, and at turns aggressive or angry sounding. It does have that over the top bombastic heaviness that we are about, and the whole Barbaric-Romantic thing that we are known for. The overarching theme that comes to mind when I think about the album or listen to it is passion...raw passion. There are big monolithic riffs, moody chord changes, "classical" type bits, sort of Bluesy moments.... it retains the VIRGIN STEELE signature, but it adds new dimensions to it. In a strange way it "feels" to me like it could have been the album we might have made to follow up "NOBLE SAVAGE", had I been able to devote all my energies into the more bombastic or progressive side of my musical nature at that time, rather than trying to appease some of the other "factions" around me who wanted some kind of a "hit"...whatever that meant at the time. So to conclude...we have infused the recordings with all that we have gone through over these past months, every fiber of our being...and I think this album will be something our Fans will really enjoy!"

SPV / Steamhammer will release the new studio album on June 17th in Scandinavia, June 19th in Germany, June 22nd in Europe and June 23rd in the USA.

It will come out with three different covers as a standard 1CD version (the gargoyle cover), 2CD digipak version (the angel cover), 2 LP gatefold version (the flute playing skeleton cover) and download.

Fear The Concept Premiere Music Video For "Identity" At Revolver

***
1425853742

About Fear The Concept:

Without a doubt, someone has chided you with an old adage: "The only thing there is to fear is fear itself". This might have been true until 2011, where the saying became the only thing to fear is fear itself--and Fear the Concept, of course.

Fear the Concept are a furious five-piece from the depths of the sweltering Floridian heat, hell-bent on delivering creative, catchy and crushing metalcore, fueled by passion and a penchant for the punishing with no strings attached. Founded by percussionist Anthony LaMotta and guitarist Jonah Hess, Fear the Concept went through numerous line-up arrangements and member changes before arriving to their current lineup. Local success didn't satiate the band's thirst for delivering their unique blend of raunchy, energetic metalcore to the masses, however, as the summer of 2014 saw Fear the Concept traveling north, escaping the Floridian heat and recording their sophomore EP, Identity at Michigan's 37 Studios, to be produced by Joey Sturgis.

Old-fashioned fear is nothing compared to Fear the Concept, a band sure to take over a town near you in no time.

Fear The Concept is:

Mike Frush — Vocals
Anthony LaMotta — Drums
Zack Haynes — Guitar and vocals
Jonah Hess — Guitar
Ty St Germain — Bass

A Film by Ian McFarland of McFarland & Pecci

Roger Miret and Vinnie Stigma are lynchpins of New York Hardcore (NYHC), and their band AGNOSTIC FRONT played a key role in defining, shaping and establishing the cultural code of conduct for the still-thriving movement. Film and music video director Ian McFarland (Rungs in a Ladder: Jacob Bannon, The Outlaw: Dan Hardy, The Problem Solver: Joe Lauzon, Meshuggah, Killswitch Engage, Fear Factory, Agnostic Front) is crafting an intimate portrait of these two men – two of the most respected individuals in the 35-year history of hardcore punk music – dubbed The Godfathers of Hardcore.

Miret and Stigma have remained close friends through great adversity that often threatened their very existence. Today, Roger and Vinnie are primed and reaching into 50's and 60's, balancing jobs and families, in addition to an upcoming touring schedule that will take them all over the world. The Godfathers of Hardcore will serve as an up-close-and-personal look into the lives of these different yet inseparable musical icons, and in the process will illustrate the tenacity, optimism and enthusiasm with which they both approach their band to this day. Since the beginning, Miret and Stigma took on the system with fists clenched, and throughout the decades, they’ve maintained the powerful and youthful (if not as destructive) mindset that started it all.

The Godfathers of Hardcore is already in the midst of production and features intimate footage captured by McFarland over the past several years, but to do the story the greatest justice possible, director Ian McFarland is reaching out to the band’s diehard fans, offering them a chance to join in supporting the film via a new Kickstarter campaignwww.godfathersofhardcore.com (redirects to Kickstarter)

The Kickstarter campaign will take place over the course of the next few weeks (ending on May 17th) and features unique incentives such as an ESP Viper-100FM STBLK Guitar with backplate signed by AGNOSTIC FRONT, custom Vinnie Stigma ringtones, a limited edition AGNOSTIC FRONT skate deck, a personal Lower East Side tour with Vinnie Stigma, and even a "Kickstarter Executive Producer" credit on the film. The goal is to raise $15,000, and afterwards, some amazing stretch goals will be added (details coming soon).

Over the next three weeks, McFarland will be adding more one-of-a-kind incentives, in addition to giving updates on the project and filming. McFarland adds,“Unlike a large number of Kickstarter projects, our production team has already begun filming the movie and have shot a good amount of footage. We need this Kickstarter to help us with getting our film team over to Europe to travel with AGNOSTIC FRONT at the end of May.”

AGNOSTIC FRONT exists on a level all their own – a level of their own creation. Join director Ian McFarland in supporting his creation, his vision, and his story of one of the most influential bands of all time, The Godfathers of Hardcore, and watch the story live on in film! www.godfathersofhardcore.com

As a part of a potent subculture, AGNOSTIC FRONT probably will never sit beside Aerosmith and the Beatles in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Nor have they been showered with platinum records or the rock and roll riches reserved for acts that value popularity over integrity. Miret and Stigma are perfectly happy with the niche they’ve carved for themselves, and the effect they’ve had on an entire subgenre that had infiltrated both the counter-culture and impacted the mainstream. A recent article in the New Yorker about hardcore music quoted was named “United Blood,” after AGNOSTIC FRONT’s first album. The band continues to play major slots on high-profile international festivals and their recently-released album, “The American Dream Died,” has earned the band some of its strongest reviews in years.

AGNOSTIC FRONT’s past legacy is perhaps even more praiseworthy than their present accomplishments. The movement the band pioneered has had a profound effect on millions of fans and musicians, as well as skateboarders, bikers and other individualists who refuse to accept the status quo. In a landscape of increasing apathy and complacency, the messages AGNOSTIC FRONT presents are as relevant today as they were in the ‘80s when the band members were impoverished, scrappy and ambitious, often fighting for their very survival as well as the perseverance of their volatile but highly inspirational band.

Back in the ‘80s, Miret and Stigma roamed the dangerous streets of NYC’s Lower East Side, fighting those who got in their way and laying down the gauntlet for the music they believed in and were willing to defend with their lives. At the time, they had no idea that the band that meant the world to them and the culture populated by runaways, street kids, punks, skinheads and other social misfits would also resonate with a generation of other music fans and musicians including Metallica’s Kirk HammettAnthrax’s Scott Ian and Pantera’s Phil Anselmo, not to mention Cremaster’s Mathew Barney and electronic guruMoby. Roger Miret, 50 (vocalist), a Cuban-refugee from an abusive home and Vinnie Stigma, 59 (guitarist), a second-generation true-blue New York Italian, found each other on the rough streets of NYC in the early 1980s, becoming fast friends and developing an unbreakable bond. Together, over the next three decades, they became the “Godfathers of New York City Hardcore” - creating a vehicle through which three generations of fans could grow, scream and band together as one in the face of diversity, violence and discrimination. Through the strength and bonds of brotherhood, Roger and Vinnie birthed something larger than themselves – they birthed a revolution.

Along the way, they experienced some of the most harrowing blows a band can endure, including various line-up changes, Roger’s incarceration and the subsequent collapse of the band. After Roger was released in the late 1990’s from New York’s Wallkill Correctional Facility, Roger and Vinnie reunited, picking up right where they left off. Still touring and recording today, AGNOSTIC FRONT is the very embodiment of hardcore: endurance, perseverance, brotherhood, strength against oppression and the will to keep going, obstacles be damned.

VEIL OF MAYA
RELEASE MATRIARCH ON MAY 12 VIA SUMERIAN RECORDS

Chicago metal titans Veil Of Maya will release Matriarch on May 12 via Sumerian Records. Today, the quartet also announces a late spring headlining tour with special guests Revocation, Oceano, Gift Giver and Entheos. The Matriarch Tour begins May 20 in Detroit and VIP pre-order tickets are available now via: VOM.soundrink.com

When Veil of Maya was recording Matriarch, the group found themselves with a lot of new ideas, but no singer. Enter Lukas Magyar. Hailing from, literally, the middle of nowhere.

Im from this small town in Wisconsin, where theres not a lot of music and nobodys really as serious about it as I am, says Magyar. I had followed Veil for a few years, and was really impressed by them. When I heard they needed a new singer, I got in touch.  Magyar, however, had never toured before. Or even been on a plane. Not a problem.

We flew him out, auditioned him and hired him on the spot, reveals guitarist Marc Okubo. He was great. He could sing, too, which is something wed wanted to do for a while. It really opened up some possibilities.

After making his live debut in front of thousands at last years Knotfest, Magyar quickly joined producer Taylor Larson (Periphery, Darkest Hour) and his new band mates (rounded out by Okubo, drummer Sam Applebaum and bassist Dan Hauser) in the studio to record Matriarch. Its an album that finds Magyar bringing a new addition to Veil Of Mayas arsenal; a mix of harsh and clean singing.

There was controversy when we released the single, Mikasa Okubo admits. But for every 10 kids who complained online, we gained hundreds of new fans. I think Mikasa is the most popular song weve ever put ou
t.

Watch the video for Mikasa here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCPwR7R4hlA

Youll definitely hear Lukass presence and influence on Matriarch, the bands fifth album. Yes, the band is still, as AllMusic posited, possessed of a malevolent fury and almost mechanical precision. But theres growth here. The grinding NYU slides up against the more atmospheric tracks like Phoenix and Leeloo. The title track gets playful, almost like a Danny Elfman tune.

Veil Of Maya has spent the past ten years grinding it out on the road through countless tours and festivals around the world, gaining an enormous following for its evolving blend of progressive metal technical brutality. The band reached a critical peak with 2012s incredibly successful Eclipse, co-produced by Peripherys Misha Mansoor and charting on the Billboard Top 200.

The band will keep the momentum going throughout the year, with plans for additional summer dates to be announced soon. Dates for Veil Of Mayas upcoming headlining run can be found below.

LOTT - Logo 2

LORDS OF THE TRIDENT have released a new live performance official video of the song "Light This City" taken from their recently released album "Frostburn".

Lead vocalist Fang VonWrathenstein has checked in with the following update:

"Many loyal minions traveled far and wide to attend our CD release party on Friday the 13th in Madison, Wisconsin. Some chartered jets, some rustled horses, one hijacked a cruise liner and somehow made it. All of this was pleasing to your LORDS. However, we know that some of our minions could not make the party, and so we've released this music video for "Light This City", which is a mashup of us playing the song live along with some of the best moments of the party. Did you miss Killius falling into the drumset? Well now you can relive the moment digitally, over and over again!"

Lords of the Trident are currently in the process of filming and editing a follow-up music video for the song "Knights of Dragon's Deep".

Lords of the Trident recently announced a list of upcoming shows:

A BREACH OF SILENCE premiere new music video for song 'Vultures' today
Fresh off their latest album “The Darkest Road”, A BREACH OF SILENCE have premiered their uplifting new music video for the band’s latest single Vultures. The video tells the story of a homeless man who returns a lost wallet to a young, well-dressed businessman – and saves his life in the process. The song is taken from their highly-praised sophomore album The Darkest Road which was released on October 7, and named “One of the Top 25 albums of 2014” by Hysteria Magazine, debuted at #1 on the iTunes Metal Chart (Australia), and at #20 on Australia’sPurely Independent Chart. The video may be watched at the Eclipse RecordsYouTube channel.
Watch 'Vultures' now...
Vultures is a song about the struggles in life, and fighting through them”, states lead vocalist Rhys Flannery“Whenever you feel like you are alone, regardless of how great the pressure, there’s always someone out there that’s willing to help. As hard as it may be, you’ve just got to search for them… there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel.”  Guitarist Mat Cosgrove continues, “We talked about one of us having a real bad day, and someone worse off had helped us out of this situation and it really put things into perspective… So we came up with the story line of a homeless person who could easily take the wallet out of necessity to survive, instead goes out of his way to find the owner, and then saves his life.”

The band enlisted Col Cadell to direct, who had also done their previous music video for the title track, The Darkest Road. “Something I wanted to do withVultures, was take the band in a much darker direction artistically, using color palette’s that evoke a cold intimacy while still painting a realistic world. Our shoot location was Fortitude Valley located in Brisbane, Australia. We used low shot angles, with the sky as a background to evoke a feeling of openness, and used high angle shots at the end when the homeless man rescues the businessman” states Col.
  • “The Darkest Road is one of the Top 25 albums of 2014!” – Hysteria Magazine
  • Debut at #1 on the iTunes Metal Chart in Australia
  • Debut at #20 on Australia’s Purely Independent Chart
  • 10/10 - "The Darkest Road is without a doubt the best album of 2014!" -Bro Metal
  • 10/10 - "Infectious, and captivating are just a few words that can describe The Darkest Road" - Front Row Report
  • “A Breach Of Silence have proven themselves worthy of being tabbed one of the next big things in metal.” Starpulse
  • 86/100 - "The Darkest Road is a triumph" - Loud Mag
  • "A Breach of Silence has produced a masterpiece that far transcends metalcore music" - Snoozecontrol
The Darkest Road is available for download from iTunes, and GooglePlay, while CDs are available via Eclipse RecordsBestBuyFye, and Amazon.  The full album is also streaming via YouTubeSpotify, Pandora, and Rdio.

LAGO: Phoenix Death Metal Outfit Embarks On The Tyranny Tour Across The Western US This Friday

Phoenix-based quartet, LAGO, will embark on The Tyranny Tour this week, taking the blackened death metal ferocity of their menacing debut LP, Tyranny, to nine cities across the Western US. The trek begins in Flagstaff, Arizona, this Friday, April 24th, after which the outfit will topple Long Beach, Los Osos, San Jose, Portland, Seattle, Boise, Salt Lake City and Denver through May 2nd.

Tyranny, initially released on CD in September 2014 via Battleground Records, was unveiled on a limited vinyl run through Blood Harvest Records in March. Produced by Ryan Butler at Arcane Digital Recording (Exhumed, Phobia, Landmine Marathon) and mastered by Dave Shirk at Sonorous Mastering (Incantation, Exhumed, Today is the Day), LAGO's forty minutes of primal, breakneck death metal are infused with an ominous, blackened atmosphere. Issued Invisible Oranges of the band's output, "the Phoenix quartet plays competent and well-executed death metal... Besides a blackened foray here and a chamber music segue there, they blast along like streamlined icons, strengthened by a proven Floridian flow." MetalSucks called in an equally positive write-up: "LAGO know when to beat you over the head with sheer brutality, they know when to slow things down for gargantuan effect, and they know how write a real, artful guitar solo. In short, they're the perfect death metal band." Headbang Or GTFO gave the record a 5/5, issuing, "Tyranny is a modern day death metal masterpiece, that features some of the best things to happen to the genre but keeping it simple and relatively grim. And No Clean Singing called Tyranny, "...top-shelf death metal, like some hellish blackened offspring of early Morbid Angel and Disma, fully armed with an arsenal of impressive technical chops and infectious hooks...Tyranny has vaulted onto our list of highly anticipated 2014 albums."

    LAGO Tyranny Tour:

4/24/2015 The Hive - Flagstaff, AZ

4/25/2015 Blacklight District Lounge - Long Beach, CA

4/26/2015 Sweet Springs Saloon - Los Osos, CA

DEATH TO FALSE METAL FESTIVAL: Inaugural Connecticut-Based Metal Fest Announced For August 2015

Whiplash, Valkyrie, Imperial Triumphant, Krieg, Secrets Of The Sky, Immortal Bird, Godhunter, Secret Cutter, Nightbitch And More Confirmed

This August, the maiden installment of a brand new metal fest will take over Hamden, Connecticut, dubbed DEATH TO FALSE METAL FESTIVAL. Born out of a desire to bring together some of the best touring acts in the world with quality local and regional metal acts, DEATH TO FALSE METAL FESTIVAL hopes to create what we hope will become one of the premiere metal festivals in the US.

Sponsored by Metal Insider and Earsplit PR, the first DEATH TO FALSE METAL gathering is set to take place on Friday, August 14th and Saturday the 15th at The Outer Space & Ballroom in Hamden, just outside of New Haven, Connecticut. Friday night's lineup will feature thrash legends Whiplash, Valkyrie (Relapse Records), Imperial Triumphant, Nightbitch, Vengeance, and Bedroom Rehab Corporation. Saturday night will feature USBM stalwarts Krieg (Candlelight Records), Secrets Of The Sky (Metal Blade Records), Immortal Bird, Destroyer Of Light, Godhunter (The Compound Recs/Battleground Records), Secret Cutter, Tomb & Thirst, Grizzlor, and Archaic Decapitator.

Tickets for DEATH TO FALSE METAL FESTIVAL go on sale on May 1st at the festival's Facebook page RIGHT HERE. You can also follow the event on Twitter at @dtfmfestival.

Issues festival curator, Chip McCabe, on the founding of this now annual event, "The name DEATH TO FALSE METAL is actually a bit tongue-in-cheek. The metal scene is littered with way too many people who carry an 'I'm more underground than you' attitude, which I find amusing, so the title is dedicated to them. However, the name does reflect that we are looking for a certain aesthetic for the bands that play this festival. Our lineup is fairly eclectic, with thrash, death metal, black metal, doom, grindcore, traditional metal, etc. But we will not stand for generic, cookie-cutter garbage; we want the best of the best, every year."

DEATH TO FALSE METAL FESTIVAL 2015 Lineup:

8/14/2015 The Outer Space & Ballroom - Hamden, CT

w/ Whiplash, Valkyrie, Imperial Triumphant, Nightbitch, Vengeance, Bedroom Rehab Corporation

8/15/2015 The Outer Space & Ballroom - Hamden, CT

w/ Krieg, Secrets Of The Sky, Immortal Bird, Destroyer Of Light, Godhunter, Secret Cutter, Tomb & Thirst, Grizzlor, Archaic Decapitator

Additional news on DEATH TO FALSE METAL FESTIVAL will be released in the coming weeks.

SYSTEM OF A DOWN TEAMING WITH ROLLING STONE TO LIVE STREAM TOMORROW’S CONCERT FROM ARMENIA

SHOW MARKS BAND’S FIRST-EVER PERFORMANCE IN ARMENIA

"WAKE UP THE SOULS" TOUR CALLS FOR JUSTICE FOR THE 1.5 MILLION ARMENIANS MURDERED DURING 1915 MASSACRE

cid:image002.png@01D004DD.17BDC2A0Los Angeles, CA (April 22, 2015) – Grammy winning band SYSTEM OF A DOWN is teaming with Rolling Stone to live-stream their first-ever concert from Armenia.

The show can be seen at Rollingstone.com tomorrow, April 23, at 9:30 am pst / 12:30 pm est.

The concert marks the culmination of the band’s “Wake Up The Souls” tour, a global trek to commemorate the 100thanniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The
arena tour, which is System of a Down’s first since 2013 and includes the band’s first-ever performance in Yerevan’s Republic Square, kicked off April 6th at the Forum in Los Angeles.

April 24th, 2015 marks the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, an attempted extermination of the Armenian people by the Ottoman Empire. From 1915 through 1923, 1.5 million men, women and children were starved, shot, beaten and banished to die in the desert during one of history's greatest crimes. Though considered by many to be the first genocide of the 20th century, the Turkish government denies it ever happened.

System Of A Down's  landmark tour took them to Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Russia. The group, whose four members are all of Armenian descent, have lost family members and history to the Genocide and have worked tirelessly over the years to promote awareness.

Since their arrival in 1998, System Of A Down has released 5 studio albums, sold over 31 million copies worldwide, had three No. 1 debuts on Billboard’s Top 200 Album Chart,  garnered a Grammy win and amassed a global following whose members numbers in the tens of millions. They've written and recorded 7 top 10 radio hits, 2 of which were chart-topping No. 1's (2002's "Aerials" and 2005's "Hypnotize").  In 2005 System Of A Down released both Mezmerize and Hypnotize in two installments as a dual album in a single year. Each debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 and on charts around the world, achieving the rare feat of having two No. 1 albums in the same calendar year. “B.Y.O.B.” (Bring Your Own Bombs) was the first single released from Mezmerize and earned the band a Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance.

SIX FEET UNDER: Iconic Death Metal Giants Deafen The Masses With New Single From Crypt Of The Devil Currently Streaming At No Clean Singing

      SIX FEET UNDER

In just two weeks, iconic death metal giants, SIX FEET UNDER, will unleash the bestial wares of their Crypt Of The Devil full-length via Metal Blade Records. Composed by renowned growl king, Chris Barnes with Cannabis Corpse bassist/vocalist Phil "Landphil" Hall, the band's eleventh studio recording boasts ten brutalic slabs of audio repugnance and, as a continuation from SIX FEET UNDER's previous works of deviltry, wherein Barnes pens lyrics from the darkest depths of the human condition, is chilling in both sound and concept.

As Crypt Of The Devil's release day draws near, today No Clean Singing rolls out "Gruesome" for communal huffing noting, "I'm not saying you shouldn't blaze one before listening to 'Gruesome,' as long as you understand the risk of warfare in your brain chemistry - between the part of you that wants to sink into a couch and dial out for a pizza and the part, awakened by this song, that wants to skin your obnoxious neighbor with a lemon peeler and then set him on fire before he bleeds out.Barnes sounds like he's feeling the heat of the blood lust," the popular music portal continues of the track, "the jabbing/drilling riffs are scalpel-sharp and vicious, and there's enough crowbar-to-the-neck groove in the song to plow through the cranium and get stuck in the squishy part. When the band really jam the pedal to the floor in this thing and let loose a flame-throwing guitar solo, it becomes Grade-A mosh meat, too - the song is bound to become a staple in SFU's live shows."

    Get "Gruesome" at THIS LOCATION.

And you can still sample "Stab," slicing its way through the Decibel airwaves at THIS LOCATION.

SIX FEET UNDER began as a side project while Barnes - owner of what would become one of the most dominating, groundbreaking and instantly distinguishable voices of the death metal genre - was fronting Cannibal Corpse. SIX FEET UNDER would eventually become a full-fledged entity in 1995 and now stands among the longest standing and successful acts in death metal history, with all but their debut appearing on a Billboard chart. Latest offering, Crypt Of The Devil, was recorded at Phil "Landphil" Hall's studio in Virginia. Hall tracked rhythm and bass guitar, while his brother, Josh, tracked drums, and guitarist Brandon Ellis tracked the majority of the album's leads. Barnes took to London Bridge Studio (Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains etc.) in his new homebase in Seattle, Washington to track vocals and in fact holed himself up in the very same booth where Layne Staley captured his words. Mixing was completed by Rob Caldwell (Cannabis Corpse, Iron Reagan etc.) in Sarasota, Florida and mastering was handled by Alan Douches (Cannibal Corpse, Revocation, Torche, Skeletonwitch etc.) at West West Side in New Windsor, New York.

Crypt Of The Devil will see release via Metal Blade Records on May 5th, 2015. For preorder bundles and a taste of first single, "Open Coffin Orgy," visit: metalblade.com/sixfeetunder.

"If they open a Death Metal Hall of Fame, Chris Barnes should have a wing... This record is another classic by a band that makes more hits than misses. 9/10" - Wicked Channel

SLAYER NEARING COMPLETION OF NEW ALBUM
Band's 2015-2016 Global Tour Kicks off April 24
Band will Headlline the 2015 Mayhem Festival and Play
Other Headline and Major Outdoor Festival Dates

LOS ANGELES, CA - (MONDAY, April 20, 2015) - Slayer - bassist/vocalist Tom Araya, guitarist Kerry King, and returning drummer Paul Bostaph, along with touring guitarist Gary Holt and producer Terry Date - has completed recording what is one of the most highly-anticipated albums of 2015, Slayer's 11th studio album and the band's first new effort since 2011's Grammy-nominated World Painted Blood.  The currently untitled album is expected out later this year, and will be released on Slayer's own as yet unnamed label (through Nuclear Blast).

Slayer will tour extensively to support the new album, headlining this summer's Mayhem Festival as well as playing other major outdoor festivals and several "An Evening With..." Slayer-only concerts.  The confirmed itinerary is below.

Following Slayer's studio sessions in March 2014 that yielded the track "Implode," offered by the band as a free download, Slayer recorded on and off between September and mid-January at L.A.'s Henson Studios, and is currently mixing the album.  Eleven songs have been recorded, but what will end up on the final track listing is yet to be determined.  Early reports indicate that Slayer fans have a lot to look forward to - the new music is a sonic assault of brutal, ominous, lightening-fast and heavy-as-hell music with lyrics that unmask what Slayer knows best - the terror, the corruption and the societal turmoil that dominates our world.

"The new songs have that iconic Slayer feel," said Nuclear Blast America's General Manager Gerardo Martinez.  "Tom's vocals are probably the best I've heard in two decades, and Kerry, Paul and Gary are playing their asses of with powerful, intense performances and riffs and beats that are absolutely lethal."

Fans got a second preview of the new album this past Saturday when another one of the new songs, "When The Stillness Comes," was released as a limited-edition (only 5000 copies worldwide), seven-inch vinyl picture disc exclusive for Record Store Day.

The new album marks the first time Slayer has worked with producer Terry Date (Slipknot, Soundgarden, Deftones), Bostaph's return to the Slayer recording line-up since 2001's God Hates Us All, and Holt's first appearance on a Slayer album.  It's also the first Slayer album without the presence of founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman, athough a Hanneman-penned song is on the final track listing.

According to Araya, "Jeff had always been writing and demoing songs, even up until shortly before he passed.  You can tell by the quality of his songwriting that this was his passion.  There will be a song written by Jeff on the new album.  Everything but the vocals had been completed, so we did the vocals and it's done.  And there are a few more of Jeff's songs that we might record and release in the future."

"With this new album," added King, "Tom, Paul and I put all of our ideas out on to the table, working in a more collaborative way toward the ultimate heavy outcome.  And I've got to give big props to Gary who played lead on several of the new songs.  I think he got all of his leads done in one day - he's a maniac!"

    ABOUT SLAYER:
For nearly three decades, Slayer's onslaught has proven the band to be the supreme thrash-metal band on the planet. The two-time Grammy-winning band has also accumulated an abundance of Certified Gold Albums along with "Best..." awards from media outlets all over the world, including Kerrang!SPINMetal HammerRevolver, and Esquire.  Throughout Slayer's history, the band has never faltered in unleashing its extreme and focused sonic assault, and, unlike many of its contemporaries who "commercialized" their sound, Slayer has remained crushing and brutal, steadfastly refusing to cater to the mainstream.  Slayer's founding member, guitarist Jeff Hanneman passed in 2013, and Exodus guitarist Gary Holt has been filling in since.  Paul Bostaph, who was Slayer's drummer from '94 - '01, has rejoined bassist/vocalist Tom Araya and guitarist Kerry King, and is back behind the kit. Slayer is set to release its 11th studio album later this year.

Watch “Hope Within Hatred” on VEVO

SHATTERED SUN vocalist Marcos Leal elaborated on the experience of shooting their first video, "Filming this video was kind of our first introduction to our new lives.  From the drive to Chicago, the 6AM wake up call, and the efforts of working non-stop for the next 14 hours, the hard work and dedication put into everything is something that's going to shine.  We want to give our fans the best video possible.”

Hope Within Hatred is a song about overcoming tremendous adversity”, Leal explains.  “We wanted to show people with this video that sometimes the decisions we make can dig us so far down, that it would be easier to give up than fight to get out.  But we can all break through if we want it bad enough.”

SHATTERED SUN are currently exhibiting their metal madness to crowds across the US as part of the “Dark Roots Of Thrash II Tour”, with Exodus and Testament.  Pre-order the album today.

PERIPHERY PREMIERE “THE BAD THING” VIDEO VIA BILLBOARD; NORTH AMERICAN TOUR BEGINS APRIL 25

April 17, 2015, Washington, D.C. – Periphery, who are about to embark on the second leg of their North American tour dates in support of the Juggernaut albums, premiere “The Bad Thing” video today via Billboard (http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/rock/6531885/periphery-the-bad-thing-video-exclusive).

Jeff Holcomb directed the clip, which features a montage of live footage from the DC-based prog-metal outfit’s early 2015 tour.  Drummer Matt Halpern explained to Billboard, “We thought that a live performance for ‘The Bad Thing’ video was a great way to show the intensity of the song, and to show our direct expression of how it makes us feel on stage.”

Periphery released Juggernaut: Alpha and Juggernaut: Omega simultaneously in late January via Sumerian Records, with the pair of releases landing at #22 and #25 on Billboard’s Top 200 (#15 and #16 on the Top Albums chart as well as #2 and #3 on Billboard’s Hard Rock Chart).

The band was on recent covers of Revolver and Outburn, who said, “Juggernaut… will most likely change the face of modern progressive metal as we know it.”  Metal Sucks called the releases “full-fledged masterpieces” and Rolling Stone dubbed the albums “the group’s most ambitious project yet,” saying it “features some of the band’s most accessible music.”

Periphery begins a new round of North American dates on April 25 at Welcome to Rockville in Jacksonville, Fla.  The band joins up with In Flames and All That Remains for a month of dates with stops at Carolina Rebellion, Rock on the Range and Rocklahoma interwoven.

The loose theme under which the tracks were picked is myth and mythology. Stay tuned to Clutch’s Facebook page for more of these. As yesterday marks the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's death, it seems only appropriate to begin this series with our song, ‘Abraham Lincoln’."

Clutch have been pushing the boundaries that define heavy rock music since the four original members got together in high school. Clutch is an unmatched musical force that has been best described as “the quintessential American Rock Band”. They released their tenth and latest studio album Earth Rocker via their own label Weathermaker Music on March 16, 2013. The album entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at #15 giving the band their highest chart position to date.

Clutch’s Earth Rocker reached #1 on the Rock Chart and #4 on iTunes' overall Top 100 album chart. Earth Rocker was awarded “Album of The Year” by Metal Hammer and garnered a Top 10 spot on Rolling Stone’s “Top 20 Metal Albums of the Year”. Rolling Stone further enthused:  “Four Maryland lifers — road dogs who've been grinding since the early Fugazi administration, cranking out  seething admixtures of jam-band chops, careening blues-punk riffs and singer Neil Fallon's nerdy, piss-taking wiseass lyrics — release their hardest rocking set to date. Look for a go-go break (and some clever punning on the phrase "drop the bomb!) on ‘D.C. Sound Attack!’ Inspirational verse: “if you're gonna do it/ do it live on stage/ or don't do it at all.”

Clutch is currently working on their follow up to Earth Rocker which will be released in 2015.

During the summer of 2014, Toronto's CANCER BATS spent several weeks with legendary multi-platinum producer Ross Robinson (At The Drive-In, Slipknot, The Cure, Sepultura, Glassjaw) at his studio in Venice, California. The Canadian act was pulled out of their normal, more winter-y element to the beaches of California for the tracking of Searching For Zero. Robinson and the band shared a singular vision to create a personal, vibrant album and the results are apparent. In the series of four studio videos, the CANCER BATS -- Liam Cormier, Scott Middleton, Jaye Schwarzer, and Mike Peters -- will share their experiences during tracking, what it was like to work with Robinson and what made this recording session different from their previous records. Jaye Schwarzer stated in one episode, "Let everything that's fake and bullshit fall to the wayside, and you're left with like a raw, open wound." Watch episode 1 now at youtube.com/cancerbatsofficial and pre-order your copy on iTunes!

The beloved multiple-JUNO nominated hardcore punk metal band's fifth studio album, Searching For Zero, features ten tracks that are simultaneously the most melodic, yet menacing CANCER BATS compositions to date. The record incorporates the crude hardcore punk of their 2006 debut,Birthing The Giant, and the more metal leanings of 2008's Hail Destroyer, while pushing the heavy hybrid sounds of 2010's Mayors Bears Scraps And Bones and 2012's darker Dead Set On Living to a new plateau. The choruses are hookier, the screams more savage, the riffs more vicious, the songs more powerful. This is CANCER BATS at their pinnacle - their "True Zero."

The music video for "Chain Reaction" was shot in a grand 14th Century residence in Mantova (near Milan), on one very cold night. We are pretty stoked about the result and how Cristian looks as a ghost moving inside and outside the location. Thanks to Matteo Di Gioia and "The Jack Stupid" staff, we found the perfect way to put Mr. Machado on video, all hand-drawn! It looks absolutely insane. -Matt Massa, Mellowtoy

COAL CHAMBER Premiere Lyric Video For "Suffer in Silence"
Featuring Al Jourgenson on Metal Injection!

    New Album
Rivals Out May 19th on Napalm Records

After wrapping up their first North American tour in support of their new album RivalsCOAL CHAMBER are ready to unleash another song from the new album.  Today the band premieres the track "Suffer in Silence" which features guest vocals by Ministry front man Al Jourgensen.  Check out the lyric video courtesy of Metal Injection HERE.

Dez Fafara on "Suffer in Silence" and working with Al Jourgensen:

"Al has been a close friend for many years, he's a legend, and literally was the only guy I asked to be a guest on this record.  He came over to the house, we had BBQ a hell of a lot of wine then I had the pleasure of watching him in my home studio do what he does!  I fucking love this song so jam it loud!"

COAL CHAMBER will release their new album Rivals on May 19th in North America via Napalm Records.  This is the band's first new album in over thirteen years.  With producer Mark Lewis at the helm, Rivals makes it seem as if COAL CHAMBER never took a break at all.  They picked up right where they left off and have delivered what some may consider their best work to date.  Pre-orders for Rivals in special bundles packages including a CD/DVD, LP (Limited to 1,000 Purple LP's), T-Shirt, beanie and wristbands are available HERE.

The first single from Rivals entitled "I.O.U. Nothing" can be streamed HERE.  The title track title track "Rivals" is available for streaming HERE.

While their implosion 12 years ago left a morass of questions and conjecture about what could have been, the members of COAL CHAMBER aren't into dwelling on their past right now. Why the fuck should they? With Rivals, they've written a new, emboldened chapter in their storied career, delivering beatdown riffage, lyrical diatribes and alluring sonic vistas the realm of heavy music can always use to move that culture forward. The return of COAL CHAMBER is marked by two mindsets. The first signifies a celebration of friends who have experienced a greater clarity about them to want to come together in a practice space again. The other mindset posits that they had a case of unfinished business they needed to take care of with bold strokes, lead-pipe cruelty and aural finesse.

EX-Misfit guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein breaks new ground with His first Solo Record as “DOYLE”

Released on Doyle's own label, Monsterman RecordsAbominator is a sonically thick and lyrically evil slab of horrorpunk tinged metal that finds Doyle expanding in a logical progression upon the genre of music he helped create. Doyle's first band, the infamous Glenn Danzig-fronted Misfits, helped create the genre of speed/thrash metal with their last album, 1983's Earth AD/Wolf's Blood- in fact, the record has been revered as one of the blueprints for the genre by many of its most respected players, as evidenced by countless groups covering the album's songs, not the least of which being Metallica.Abominator is not the sound of some punk guitarist gone metal- it's the roaring return of one of extreme metal's original architects to his bloodsplattered drawing board.

Recording both guitar and bass tracks for the album, the unmistakable sound of Doyle's signature Annihilator guitar cuts through on every tune, starting with the snarling opening title track “Abominator" fans of the Misfits will recognize it right away. But the guitar tracks rip through the record with much heavier metallic force than his previous bands's recordings - in short it's the sound he's been trying to capture all along, and it's positively malevolent.! While the horror punk vibe of The Misfits does permeate the album (as it should), the guitar work on Abominator is more technical (and far meatier) than your average punk rock record! With guitar, bass, and drums laid down (live show bass duty is handled by fellow Jersey native, "Left Hand" Graham), the vocals forAbominator claw their way out of an unlikely locale- the American Deep South. Coming from a legendary band of almost mythological proportions, and having first worked with one of punk and metal's most talented and respected vocalists (the infamous Glenn Danzig), Doyle's new project would need a singer with brass balls, cast-iron pipes, a suitably twisted mind, and his own vocal delivery style. Enter Alabama's Alex Story of Cancerslug, a Southern fiend who more than meets all of the afore-mentioned qualifications. His sand-blasted scream opens the record, and the evil doesn't relent until the ending growl of "Hope Hell Is Warm", the album's defiant closer. The man can scream and sing, and employs both styles to great effect, switching seamlessly from raw-throated roars to rough-edged, yet melodic, horror punk-style clean vocals.

With the release of Abominator, Doyle and company are set to hit the road and bring the monster to life on stages far and wide. Anyone who has seen Doyle play classic Misfits songs on tour with Danzig over the last few years already knows what an imposing stage presence he has- in truth, imposing isn't a strong enough word to describe this behemoth of a man. He's actually pretty damn terrifying, and the horror- punk aesthetic he helped create has been maintained through the years, from the skull white face and wicked devil lock to his massive bloody hands- that's real blood, by the way. Watching Doyle hammer such heavy tones out of a guitar, one wonders how the damn thing is going to make it through just one song, much less an entire set. With an absolutely vicious new album of songs, a wild-eyed wolf- man of a singer, a ghoulish jackhammer on the drums, a road-tested bassist, and a really loud blood-soaked guitar rig, Doyle will be destroying a venue near you soon. "It's time to hit the road for real and take this as far as it will go. We're fucking ready" he says. And what can fans expect at a Doyle show?

To get fucking pummeled, man. And then go home and ask themselves 'What the fuck just happened to me?!?”…! !
Loud, aggressive, and technically proficient, Doyle and crew are set to show the world how true horror metal sounds today.

So crank up Abominator until your speakers blow, check out Doyle on tour soon, and let the beatings begin. Hail horror!

    AEROSMITH
    :

APRIL 2015 MARKS 40TH ANNIVERSARY OF
    BAND’S CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED
    ‘TOYS IN THE ATTIC’
    ALBUM

    BAND PREPS SUMMER
    “BLUE ARMY TOUR 2015”

    G8VF4m0.png

With AEROSMITH set for another massive summer tour, the iconic and pioneering band has one more reason to celebrate in 2015: the 40th anniversary of the release of their landmark albumTOYS IN THE ATTIC.  Released April 8, 1975 , the album was AEROSMITH’s third release, becoming an eight-time platinum album and yielding such immortal tracks as “Walk This Way” and“Sweet Emotion.

    Critical
    support for the album included:

Gordon Fletcher’s Rolling Stone album review (7/31/1975) noted: “a five-piece Boston hard-rock band with almost unlimited potential…Aerosmith can be very good…and material like ‘Walk This Way,’ ‘Sweet Emotion’ and the title cut adequately proves this…”

Robert Christgau gave the album a B+ review for Consumer Guide saying, “These boys are learning a trade in record time…Tyler has a gift for the dirty line as well as the dirty look--anybody who can hook a song called ‘Adam's Apple’ around the phrase ‘love at first bite’ deserves to rehabilitate a blue blues like ‘Big Ten Inch Record.’”

All Music Guide’s Stephen Thomas Erlewine added: “The success of the album derives from a combination of an increased sense of songwriting skills and purpose. Not only does Joe Perry turn out indelible riffs like ‘Walk This Way,’ ‘Toys in the Attic”…but Steven Tyler has fully embraced sleaziness as his artistic muse. Taking his cue from the old dirty blues ‘Big Ten Inch Record,’ Tyler writes with a gleeful impishness about sex throughoutToys in the Attic , whether it's the teenage heavy petting of ‘Walk This Way,’ the promiscuous ‘Sweet Emotion,’ or the double-entendres of ‘Uncle Salty’ and ‘Adam's Apple.’ The rest of Aerosmith, led by Perry's dirty, exaggerated riffing, provide an appropriately greasy backing. Before Toys in the Attic, no other hard rock band sounded like this…Aerosmith was a gritty, street-wise hard rock band who played their blues as blooze and were in it for a good time; Toys in the Attic crystallizes that attitude.”

Highlights from a  VH1.COM (4/7/15) piece entitled “‘Toys in the Attic’ Turns 40: Ranking The Songs On Aerosmith’s Classic Album,” include:  “You See Me Crying,” on which “rhythm guitarist Brad Whitford…cascades luscious licks atop the song’s crescendo, turning its closing moments--as well as the album’s--into a breathless rush of, indeed, sweet emotion.”  On “Round and Round,” Joey Kramer’s “initial climbing drums that collapse into a cosmic stomp,” while “‘Sweet Emotion’ seems to float up out of a desert heat-storm, powered by Tom Hamilton’s looping bass-line…” And on “Walk This Way”:  “Joey Kramer’s stuttering kick-off drumbeats on ‘Walk This Way’ blow open a path for Joe Perry’s guitar riff, which is arguably his most famous and inarguably one of the most perfect in all of rock.” The title track is “a tsunami of [Whitford’s] guitar and [Kramer’s] drums and [Hamilton’s] bass that somehow go backward and forward at the same time.”

Beyond the critical acclaim TOYS IN THE ATTIC generated, musicians have honored the work--which reached #11 on the Billboard album charts--by covering a variety of the album’s tracks.  Most notably, “Walk This Way,” 1986 Billboard Top 4 single collaboration with Run–D.M.C. and a pivotal song in the burgeoning rock-rap genre, featured TYLER (on co-lead vocals) and PERRY(guitar).  The track went on to become an international hit and earned both groups a Soul Train Music Award for Best Rap-Single (1987).  In 1999, AEROSMITH and Run–D.M.C. teamed up again to perform the song, this time with Kid Rock at the MTV Video Music Awards.  A few years later,AEROSMITH again performed the song--accompanied by NSYNC, Britney Spears, Mary J. Blige,and Nelly--to an international viewing audience as part of the Super Bowl XXXV halftime show (January 2001). Additional accolades for “Walk This Way” include inclusions in: The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's 500 Songs that Shaped Rock and RollRolling Stone ranked the original version of "Walk This Way" at #346 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, while the version with Run–D.M.C. is ranked at #293"VH1: 100 Greatest Rock Songs" included "Walk This Way" at #35 (2000); Q magazine placed it at #23 in its list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Tracks (2005)Rolling Stone ranked the original version of "Walk This Way" at #34 on their list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time (2008)VH1's "100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs" included "Walk This Way" at #8 and VH1 ranked the version with Run–D.M.C. at #4 onVH1 100 Greatest Hip Hop Songs (2009).

Other recorded covers from TOYS IN THE ATTIC include R.E.M.’s 1986 version of “Toys in the Attic," a B-side to "Fall on Me”; the track also appears on the band’s Dead Letter Office, as well as the 1993 reissue of Life’s Rich PageantThe String Cheese Incident’s take on "Walk This Way"appears on the jam/bluegrass band’s 1997 self-titled live album A String Cheese Incident; and Boston ska band The Mighty Mighty Bosstones included “Sweet Emotion” on their EP Where'd You Go?   Other cover versions include Leo Kottke and Mike Gordon, The Answer, Warrant and Ratt on“Sweet Emotion”; Velvet Revolver on "No More No More"; and Sum 41 along with rappers Ja Rule and Nelly on "Walk This Way.”

Up next for AEROSMITH, beginning June 13, the band will return to the road with their “Blue Army Tour 2015.” The trek will take the band’s all original members--Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Joey Kramer, Tom Hamilton, and Brad Whitford--to 15 cities before concluding in Grand Rapids, MI on Tuesday, August 4. Immediately following the tour, AEROSMITH will perform onFriday, August 7 at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s first-ever Concert for Legends. LIGHTNING BOLT: Legendary Noisemakers Premiere New Video On Adult Swim; US Tour to Commence Next Week

Long-running noise duo, LIGHTNING BOLT, recently dropped the forbidden bounty of their long-anticipated new full-length, Fantasy Empire, upon the masses. Released last month, the band's sixth album - and first in six years - is a fresh take from a band intent on pushing themselves musically and sonically while maintaining the aesthetic that has defined not only them, but an entire generation of noisemakers. It marks many firsts, most notably their first recordings made using hi-fi recording equipment at the famed Machines With Magnets, and their first album for Thrill Jockey.

Crowned, "a straight-up face-ripper," by Stereogum, who further champions the pair's, "grainy assaultive spree of riffs and drum-spazzouts," Fantasy Empire sounds like LIGHTNING BOLTdrummer Brian Chippendale and bassist Brian Gibson are playing just a few feet away, using the clarity afforded by the studio to amplify the intensity they project. Every frantic drum hit, every fuzzed-out riff, sounds more present and tangible than ever before. "Fantasy Empire packs every second of its forty-eight minutes with what essentially sounds like a rabid baboon trapped inside a transistor that's being tumble-dried alongside an anvil and an amp," determines Steel For Brains. While Spin applauds the record's extreme, through meticulously executed variation. "Fantasy Empire equally splits its time between the physical and metaphysical. It belongs as much in a musty basement as it does in an art gallery. Listen to the crack of Chippendale's snare against Gibson's bass on a cosmic level, or get in the pit and try to love someone; Fantasy Empire cuts both ways and leaves you bloody.Adds NPR, "Listening is akin to the scene in The Wizard Of Oz where a sepia tone gives way to Technicolor; it opens up new vistas to the sound, while giving the band an opportunity to exhibit more involved musicianship. It's less a blur and more a detailed map of planned aggression."

Commemorating its release and serving as a precursor to their forthcoming live assault, LIGHTNING BOLT is pleased to unveil the official new video for first single, "The Metal East." Created by New York City-based animator and illustrator Lale Westvind, the trippy, delightfully kaleidoscopic clip initially premiered during Adult Swim Sunday night and is currently traumatizing eyes at THIS LOCATION.

LIGHTNING BOLT will embark upon an epic US tour next week supporting the devouring sounds ofFantasy Empire. Set to commence on April 15th in Buffalo, the pair will trounce twenty-nine cities on a cross country live invasion with the concluding show to take place on May 17th in Cambridge. Video Preview of Heavy Metal Art Book ...And Justice For Art Released

Foreword by MORBID ANGEL’s David Vincent

    Out April 15, 2015 – Pre-Order via Big Cartel

    portada4

A stunning video preview of “…And Justice For Art” book has been released. Pre-orders for limited second edition are now available.

According to Morbid Angel’s legendary bassist/vocalist, David Vincent, the book ...And Justice For Art: Stories About Heavy Metal Album Covers is set to become “a historical document about the importance of Metal album covers.” This volume is a one-of-a-kind collection of stories that recount for the first time, all the particulars behind the making of artworks as iconic as SLAYER's "Reign In Blood", MORBID ANGEL's "Blessed Are The Sick", METALLICA's "…And Justice For All",MOTORHEAD’s “Orgasmatron”, DEATH's "Symbolic",  ANTHRAX’s “Among The Living”, CARCASS' "Heartwork", TESTAMENT's "Dark Roots Of Earth", OPETH's "Heritage", AT THE GATES “Slaughter Of The Soul,” VAN HALEN’s “1984” and many others.

Watch a detailed video preview of the book here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjHdQGDkunQ

The book is officially available on April 15. Amazingly, the pre-sales for the first edition sold out in less than 10 days. Because of this, author Ramon ‘Oscuro’ Martos (who writes for MetalUnderground.com, This Is Metal Magazine, and PureGrainAudio.com, etc.) and co-publisher, Dark Canvas, decided to launch a second edition of 300 additional copies that are now available for pre-order via Big Cartel at:  http://andjusticeforart.bigcartel.com/product/and-justice-for-art-stories-about-heavy-metal-album-covers

Martos spent more than three years researching and interviewing more than 100 established and underground Metal bands for the book as well as renowned visual artists like Travis Smith, Eliran Kantor, Paul Raymond Gregory, Arik Roper, and Joe Petagno, among others.

The book’s foreword was written by Morbid Angel’s David Vincent. It features more than 400 graphics (some of them never seen before) and 264 glossy, color pages. It was printed thanks to a successful Indiegogo crowd-funding campaign that Martos launched last year raising 236% of its original goal. And Justice For Art is also scheduled to be one of the main attractions of the Rock & Metal Gallery at the UK’s famous Bloodstock Open Air in August 2015.

Several personalities of the Metal scene have already given praises to the book. For example, Cattle Decapitation’s vocalist, Travis Ryan, affirmed that this volume is “exactly what the music world needs to remind us all just how important album covers have been to all of us that grew up surrounding ourselves with physical media.” Obituary’s drummer, Donald Tardy, declared: “I think this book will help to keep alive all these artworks.” In addition, While Heaven Wepts’s guitarist, Tom Phillips, commented that “And Justice For Art delves far deeper into the behind-the-scenes stories than any other art books that I’m aware of. I have no doubt it will become an important document for musicologists in years to come.”

SIX FEET UNDER Premieres New Canticle Of Chaos At Decibel
Crypt Of The Devil To Drop Next Month Via Metal Blade Records

Crypt Of The Devil is the impending new full-length from long-running death metal miscreants, SIX FEET UNDERComposed by legendary vocalist Chris Barnes and Cannabis Corpse bassist/vocalist Phil "Landphil" Hall, the band's eleventh studio recording boasts ten murderous slabs of audio repugnance. A continuation from SIX FEET UNDER's previous works of deviousness, wherein Barnes pens lyrics from the darkest point of the human condition, Crypt Of The Devil is punishing in both sound and concept.

As a precursor to its official unveiling via Metal Blade Records next month, today Decibel Magazine premieres seventh sadistic crusher, "Stab," now slicing its way through the airwaves at THIS LOCATION.

Crypt Of The Devil was captured at Phil Hall's studio in Virginia. Hall tracked rhythm and bass guitar, while his brother, Josh Hall, tracked drums, and guitarist Brandon Ellis tracked the majority of the album's leads. Barnes took to London Bridge Studio (Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains etc.) in his new base of operations in Seattle, Washington to record vocals and in fact holed himself up in the very same booth where Layne Staley tracked his words. Crypt Of The Devil stands as a truly collaborative and cross-country effort from a selection of today's finest metal minds, and the result is a refreshing yet instinctively brutal SIX FEET UNDER experience.

SIX FEET UNDER is currently terrorizing Europe headlining HateFest Tour 2015 with support from Marduk, Vader and Hate, with North American live invasions to be announced in the coming weeks.

SIX FEET UNDER wMardukVaderHate [remaining dates]:
4/07/2015 Club Vaudeville - Lindau, DE
    4/08/2015 Rockfabrik - Ludwigsburg, DE
    4/09/2015 Markthalle - Hamburg, DE
4/10/2015 Musichall - Geiselwind, DE w/ Eisregen, Debauchery
4/11/2015 Backstage - München, DE w/ Eisregen, Debauchery
4/12/2015 Postbahnhof - Berlin, DE w/ Eisregen, Debauchery

SIX FEET UNDER began as a side project while Barnes - owner of what would become one of the most dominating, groundbreaking and instantly distinguishable voices of the death metal genre - was fronting Cannibal Corpse. SIX FEET UNDER would eventually become a full-fledged entity in 1995 and now stands among the longest standing and successful acts in death metal history, with all but their debut appearing on a Billboard chart.

Crypt Of The Devil will see release via Metal Blade Records on May 5th, 2015 and includes the outstanding cover art of Mike Hrubovcak (Aurora Borealis, Sinister, Exhumed, XXX Maniak, Rumpelstiltskin Grinder et al). 22NFOdG.jpg

The critically acclaimed JASON BONHAM’S LED ZEPPELIN EXPERIENCE--an unforgettable night of rock n’ roll featuring the blues-rock of Led Zeppelin--will return this spring for a month-long U.S. concert tour beginning Sunday, May 3 in Hollywood, FL and wrapping up on Sunday, May 31 at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles.

JASON BONHAM’S LED ZEPPELIN EXPERIENCE--described as “a band that recreates Led Zeppelin’s music to such a degree that one can’t help but close their eyes and simply listen” (Classic Rock Revisited, 11/2010)--celebrates the life and music of his father, the legendary Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham. The new show will encompass the band’s albums including their 1969 debut Led Zeppelin and Led Zeppelin II  (also released in 1969) and many more Led Zeppelin favorites from the canon including Led Zeppelin IV and Physical Graffiti  as well as hits and deep cuts (see a partial set list below). In the cities where there are back-to-back nights, the show set lists will be completely different (see all dates below).

    "Your Time Is Gonna Come"
    "Communication Breakdown"
    "I Can't Quit You Baby"
    "How Many More Times"
    "Whole Lotta Love"
"What Is and What Should Never Be"
    "The Lemon Song"
    "Thank You"
    "Heartbreaker"
    "Ramble On"
    "Moby Dick"
    "Bring It On Home"
    “In The Evening”
    “Kashmir”
    “10 Years Gone”
     “Trampled Under Foot”

    “Since I’ve Been Loving You”
    “Black Dog”
    “Rock N’ Roll”
    “When the Levee Breaks”
     “Going To California”

The last 18 months of JASON BONHAM’s life have been a whirlwind. He won a Grammy Award (“Best Rock Album,” Led Zeppelin, Celebration Day), performed for President Obama--when Led Zeppelin received the Kennedy Center Honors--worked with Phil Collins, joined The Circle with Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony, recorded an album with California Breed alongside Glenn Hughes. Bonham also recorded an entire drum library for the legendary film composer and music producer Hans Zimmer and became part of a who's who of drumming drum orchestra for Hans Zimmer while recording the soundtrack to his film Man of Steel.

“After the release of Celebration Day in 2012, suddenly a lot of people who had never heard me play before started to call me and ask if I could play drums for them, and then to win a Grammy for my performance, wow,” explainsJASON BONHAM. “One of those people was Hans Zimmer whom I am a huge fan of. In my work with Hans, we’ve painstakingly created an entire drum library.” JASON adds, “It’s been about a year since we last went out with the band and I’m excited to bring the Led Zeppelin Experience back out on the road with a new energy and a diverse set list. This time around we are doing more album work and including a lot of songs that Led Zeppelin never played live before. We have a few cities where we’ll do two consecutive nights. The second night will be different from the first night; therefore, if you come both nights, you won’t be disappointed. There will be giant screens with home movies and we are bringing back the ‘Moby Dick’ duet as I know it was missed on our last run. See you in May. JB”

JASON BONHAM’S LED ZEPPELING EXPERIENCE features:
    JASON BONHAM on drums,
    TONY CATANIA on guitar,
    ALEX HOWLAND on keyboards/ guitars,
    DORIAN HEARTSONG on bass
    JAMES DYLAN on vocals

JASON BONHAM’s LED ZEPPELIN EXPERIECE has thrilled both audiences and critics alike. Below is a sample of the critical reaction for the show:

A Whole Lotta Love: Jason Bonham Plays Zeppelin Hits in Honor of ‘Bonzo’…
“…the night–which went the distance from "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You’ and ‘The Lemon Song’ to ‘The Ocean’ and ‘Kashmir’is mostly about his dad's titanic presence in that music and the giant absence created by his death. ‘Thank You’ came with more home movies, while Jason, a keen student of Zeppelin concert bootlegs, revived and built on his father's live improvisations in ‘How Many More Times’ and the extended closing turbulence of ‘Dazed and Confused.’…In this show, he [Jason] gets to have Bonzo in the house every night–a reunion, at last, of father and son.

    --David Fricke, ROLLING STONE (9/2010)

“…this band was exceptionally true to the original studio versions of songs during a two-hour performance. The group was right-on during the show opener, ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll,’ the blues-fused ‘The Lemon Song,’ the trippy ‘Dazed and Confused’ and ‘Whole Lotta Love,’ which was saved for the encore.”

--Dan Aquilante, NEW YORK POST (11/2010)

Jason Bonham drums up a worthy tribute to Zep, Dad: “The son of Zeppelin’s late drummer John Bonham, Jason, 44, has never really escaped his father’s shadow. His drumming style is nearly identical; he can copy his dad’s primal pulse and monster bass-drum fills with ease. He joined Zeppelin for its one real reunion show, at London’s O2 Arena and would likely still be with them if the reunion had lasted.Bonham himself was rock-solid, and the material emphasized Zeppelin’s heavier, less mythic side. …If Zep ever does reform, there’s no question who should be on drums.”

    --Brett Milano, BOSTON HERALD (11/2010)

Not only do they deftly recapture the feel of Zeppelin as we know it from those indestructible albums--the killing-floor grind of ‘The Lemon Song,’ the spacey slide-guitar glide of ‘What Is and What Should Never Be,’ the swampy stomp of ‘When the Levee Breaks,’abetted both by John’s indelible wallop and his daughter Zoe Bonham on blues harp--but they also zero in on the improvisational fury that could erupt out of the group on stage‘How Many More Times’ was a surprise, jam-packed with fiery licks from start to finish, while a superb version of ‘Since I’ve Been Loving You’ found Catania straddling the line between keeping faithful to Page’s original performance and pushing the boundaries of it with his own style.”

--Ben Wener, ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER (11/2010)

The sound was big, booming, echo-y and dirty-like vintage Zeppelin live. The band was loose, even a little sloppy–like Led Zeppelin was.‘Black Dog’ sounded like a blast from the 70’s‘When the Levee Breaks’ had a great, strutting groove‘Kashmir’ was a psychedelic stomp. And ‘Whole Lotta Love’ was imperfect, frantic, feedback-drenched fun. …As for drummer/bandleader Bonham, 44 he was a percussive force, and his duets with his dad on film were suitably sentimental yet musically rewarding.”

--Jon Bream MINNEAPOLIS STAR TRIBUNE (10/2010)

Led Zeppelin's magic was in effect a rousing two-hour-plus set of classics from the Zep canon at the EnCana Events Centre. With state-of-the-art lighting and effects, dazzling video treatments and a crisp, thundering sound, the JBLZE offered a set of Led Zep gems that were strikingly faithful to the originals. The band tore through a set that included ‘I Can't Quit You Baby,’ ‘Dazed and Confused,’‘Kashmir,’ ‘The Lemon Song,’‘When the Levee Breaks,’ ‘Moby Dick’ (which featured a video of father and son pounding out the drum solo) and, of course, ‘Stairway to Heaven.’ The encore of ‘Whole Lotta Love’ coupled with ‘Rock and Roll’ earned a standing ovation.”

    --Ritchie Yorke, ROLLING STONE.com (10/2010)

“It was quite evident early on that Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience was not the typical tribute band. …Bonham and his top-notch ensemble not only replicated the sound of prime Zeppelin, they simulated the original band’s energy as well. …the crowd of 30, 40, 50 and 60-somethings stood and danced like they probably haven’t in years. Of course, no Zeppelin show, tribute-or-otherwise, would be complete without ‘Stairway to Heaven,’ and the version on this night was, like everything else, spot on. On the whole, the show was as much a (very loud) theater piece as it was a rock performance. Exceeding all of my expectations, I found myself convinced that Led Zeppelin was the greatest rock and roll band ever.“

    --Darryl Smyers, DALLAS OBSERVER (11/2010)

“Bonham clearly is cut from the same cloth as his father, one of rock’s most powerful drummers, but the younger Bonham often threw in welcome twists to the endings of such classics as ‘Black Dog,’ ‘Babe I’m Gonna Leave You’ and ‘Good Times Bad Times.’ …the magical moments of this show, which included a pristine take on ‘Stairway to Heaven,’ a fun rollicking ‘The Ocean’ and a taut, dramatic ‘Kashmir,’ complete with well-done psychedelic imagery, put the enthusiastic crowd squarely in Bonham’s corner. …this show captured the essence of Zeppelin’s music and stage show for those not lucky enough (or old enough) to have witnessed the original spectacle. …Thedrummer promised to keep the Led Zeppelin Experience going as long as fans want to see it, and that’s a good thing for the legacy of this legendary band.”

    –Larry Rodgers, ARIZONA REPUBLIC (11/2010)

The younger Bonham has assembled a band that recreates Led Zeppelin’s music to such a degree that one can’t help but close their eyes and simply listen. …Jason Bonham touched the audience and gave everyone a small taste of what he was born into, the Led Zeppelin family. The power of Led Zeppelin transcends both time and space. The music they made will live on forever and with Jason Bonham’s assistance, one can now witness it firsthand.”

--Jeb Wright, CLASSIC ROCK REVISITED (11/2010)

D RANDALL BLYTHE: SHOW ME WHAT YOU’RE MADE OF

LAMB OF GOD Vocalist Announces Special Photography Exhibition

May 2nd – June 30th at Sacred Gallery NYC

    D. Randall Blythe – Richmond, Virginia-based author, photographer, actor, music critic, composer and vocalist of Grammy-nominated, chart-topping heavy metal band LAMB OF GOD – is pleased to announce his upcoming photography exhibition, D RANDALL BLYTHE: Show Me What You’re Made Of, taking place from May 2 – June 30, 2015 at Sacred Gallery NYC. The opening reception will take place on May 2nd from 8-11pm.

Sacred Gallery NYC is located in Manhattan's SoHo District at 424 Broadway on the northeast corner of Broadway and Canal.

In addition to his work with LAMB OF GOD, D. Randall Blythe is the author of the forthcoming memoir Dark Days (to be published July 2015 by Perseus/Da Capo books in the USA, and Random House in the UK and associated territories), a music critic at the highly acclaimed TheTalkhouse.com, has acted in movies filmed in America and Asia, and periodically composes music for the Richmond Ballet.

“I've been lucky enough to travel literally around the world several times for my job, and for the last few years I have carried a camera with me everywhere I go,” states Blythe. Show Me What You're Made Of will showcase fine art prints of what I consider to be some of the most striking images that I have collected, both at home and during my travels. The body of work is quite diverse, and in an attempt to highlight that diversity, all the photos will be shown in custom made frames made of reclaimed wood, adding to the individuality of each piece. The frames are made by my friend, Richmond, VA musician Greta Brinkman (former bassist for Moby, The Deborah Harry Band, White Cross, and currently with RVA doom merchants Drug Lord). I am especially pleased to have my first exhibit at Sacred Arts, a gallery with such a solid connection to my community- the underground music and arts scene. I hope to see as many of you as possible at the opening, so come on out, check out some photography, and be sure to say hi to me and Greta!”

Sacred Gallery NYC was established in December of 2009 by gallery director Kevin Wilson. The gallery’s mission is to exhibit a diversity works and artists. Over the last five years, Sacred has featured graffiti artists, painters, photographers, print makers, comic book artists, documenters, and many other types of artists using a variety of mediums, including blood and live performance graffiti. The gallery prides itself on the accommodations that are provided to the diverse communities of artists that New York City and the world have to offer.

Sacred Gallery and its sister business, Sacred Tattoo, have been featured with the BBC, National Geographic Channel, Discovery Channel, MTV, TLC, New York Times, The Huffington Post, The Daily News, various tattoo magazines, and many other forms of news and media.

Butcher Babies Announce North American Spring Dates

Playing Direct Support To In This Moment On "Black Widow" Tour

Band To Release New Full Length Album This Fall

The BUTCHER BABIES have just completed work on their much-anticipated sophomore full-length album with renowned producer Logan Mader (Five Finger Death Punch, Gojira). The new offering is set for a fall release through Century Media Records

They will join up with In This Moment on April 18th in Montclair, NJ for a massive, five week North American tour with Upon A Burning Body and The Nearly Deads, which will be preceded by a slew of dates alongside Upon A Burning Body. See below for all dates and head over to www.facebook.com/butcherbabiesmusic for all additional information

Heidi Shepherd (vocals) states: "This upcoming tour is really special to us. Not only do we get to see so many of our friends that we have accumulated around the country through our music, but it’s also our first chance to play some songs off of the new album. Our fans have been so patient waiting for new music. In true Butcher Babies fashion we never do anything half-assed, so it took a little while. Playing these songs on this tour will be a little treat for our dedicated fan base. Also, to be back out with In This Moment is a huge honor. They have been so supportive of us and they put on an incredible live show."

"To all the BUTCHER BABIES fans old and new, you’ve inspired us so much throughout the years. After every show, we do a free meet and greet at our merch booth. Be sure to come stop by and say hello. We would be honored to meet you."

Carla Harvey (vocals) further adds: "It is crazy to think that this will be our ninth big national tour since our first big tour in mid 2012.  We feel like old road dogs now as we recognize all the truck stop showers and coffee shops all across the states. However, the best thing about touring is seeing all the familiar faces in the crowd. Our fans have become dear friends over the last few years and every night feels like a family reunion at our after show merch booth meet and greets."

Henry Flury (guitars) says: “Every time we pass through a city we see more and more faces screaming along to the lyrics to our songs. You guys have no idea how that makes us feel. Now we have a few new face melting surprises in store for you guys and we can't wait to see you sweat it out with us in the pit!"

FALL TO JUNE Unleashes “Delta Breakdown” Music Video via VEVO

Announcing U.S. Tour Dates with BLACK STONE CHERRY – Kicking Off May 1st

    New Self-Titled Album Out April 21, 2015 – Pre-Order via Amazon MP3 | CD

Featuring Former COLD Bassist Jeremy Marshall +

Former SHINEDOWN Member Jasin Todd as Touring Guitarist

Florida southern hard rockers FALL TO JUNE have unleashed their thought-provoking new music video for “Delta Breakdown” via VEVO. “Delta Breakdown” conveys an inspiring and personal story of healing, growth, and dismissal of demons through self-reflection, told by FTJ vocalist and lead songwriter Ben Badger.

Watch the video via VEVO here: http://www.vevo.com/watch/USME31500149

*try a different browser if the video does not load within 10 seconds

Badger states, “I wrote Delta Breakdown as a lesson's learned type tune. In traveling back and forth to Arkansas since 2005 (I call both places home), I have had a lot of time to think about highs and lows. I guess I could have easily called the song “Delta Epiphany”.”

When listening to the lyrics, the listener experiences Badger poetically describe his southern-scenery-soaked trip between Florida and Arkansas, whilst being overcome with emotions often fueled by alcohol. The story describes how these times impacted him to put down the bottle and change his life for the better.

    Take me to Tupelo

I need to feel The King in me

    Sing me sweet muddy water

    Oh, that magic

Moved by the old high cotton

Twice the man I used to be

    Oh, Delta Breakdown

Director Heather Burkey adds, “It was important for me to help FALL TO JUNE tell their story in a cinematic way as well as have a kick ass time doing it!”

The “Delta Breakdown” video is produced by Meagen Gibson and executive produced by Brad Stewart and Josh Like for Ballistic Audio productions, and was filmed in and around Jacksonville, Florida, including Little Talbot Island Beach in South Georgia, Pumpkin Hill, and Ginger's Place in Jacksonville Beach.

ANAAL NATHRAKH: UK-Based Extreme Metal Duo Announces North American Live Takeover

    ANAAL NATHRAKH

UK-based extreme metal duo, ANAAL NATHRAKH, will wage war on North America later this spring on a long-anticipated stretch of live incursions. Slated to embark on May 11th in Sacramento, the antagonistic twosome will march through a dozen metropolises, with their final massacre to take place at this year's Maryland Death Fest on May 24th. The band will be joined by special guests Incite and labelmates, Secrets Of The Sky.

5/24/2015 Maryland Death Fest - Baltimore, MD

    ANAAL NATHRAKH
unleashed their eighth studio offering, Desideratum, via Metal Blade Records last Fall. Christened, "one of the most utterly fearsome and inventive outfits currently operating in the modern extreme metal scene," by Decibel Magazine, and, "impossibly abrasive and brutal," by MetalSucks, ANAAL NATHRAKH - guitarist/bassist/programmer Mick Kenney alongside vocalist David Hunt AKA V.I.T.R.I.O.L. - is the sound of chaos incarnate. Entirely petrifying yet inexplicably inviting, the duo's maniacal musical dexterity, ingenuity and breadth, married with an intensely cynical intelligence is virtually unmatched in the metal world. Reaping mass approvals from media outlets globally, Desideratum takes the meaning of "extreme" to an entirely new realm of audio bedlam. Metal Injection applauds the pair for consistently offering up, "their own special breed of terrifying, mixing up grindcore speediness with giant choruses and riffs that are the audible equivalent of total nuclear annihilation," Noisey boasts of the record, "The snarling vocals of Dave Hunt are the focal point, with the war machine of unrelenting black metal/grind/pseudo-industrial blasts bringing up the rear. ANAAL NATHRAKH's approach is no mercy ever, apparently," while About.com opines, "ANAAL NATHRAKH are mesmerized by chaos, whether it be from incoherent screaming or programmed drums that blur into a mess of seismic beats. Even more intriguing are the melodic components thrown into the chaos, like the occasional soaring chorus line or striking guitar lead."

Desideratum is currently available via Metal Blade Records at metalblade.com/anaalnathrakh.

Dark, brooding, pure, eclectic, labelmates SECRETS OF THE SKY will release their Pathway full-length later this Spring. Boasting thirteen tracks, Pathway features vocalist Garett Gazay fluctuating between monstrous growls and clean, soothing vocal cascades, all the while complimenting the twisted compositions of guitarists Andrew Green and Clayton Bartholomew. Bassist Ryan Healy and drummer Lance Lea round out the lineup, their rhythms and distinctive voices adding further depth to the collective's meticulous, blackened soundscrapes. Sonically, SECRETS OF THE SKY aimed for a massive, clean, and organic sounding production. Much time was invested in obtaining huge drum sounds and the focus was on single performance takes throughout the process. The result is an ambitious foray into conceptual storytelling, coupled with emotional music full of peaks and valleys. This is a metal record, to be sure, but more importantly, it sounds like an album of music. This is not a random sequencing of songs or a search for a "hit" single; the tracks all have their place in the story, and the cuts in between actually drive the narrative through sound effects and ambiance. SECRETS OF THE SKY's Pathway is an experience to be had, as well as a record to merely be heard.

CHRIS ADLER of LAMB OF GOD Joins DAVE MUSTAINE in the Studio for New
    MEGADETH Album

    CHRIS ADLER 2015

Dave Mustaine, the creative driving force behind original American metal and hard rock crossover giants MEGADETH, and Chris Adler, drummer for the leaders of modern American heavy metal LAMB OF GOD, will join bassist David Ellefson in the creation of MEGADETH’s anticipated forthcoming album. Adler will be appearing as a guest on the album and contributing his thundering, hard-hitting, and technically precise style and skill, adding new blood and drive into the mix while staying true to MEGADETH’s roots.

Dave Mustaine comments, “Chris is a tremendous talent, and an amazing person. He is going to bring a new level of excitement and energy to MEGADETH that the fans are going to lose their minds over. I have nothing but respect for my previous drummers, but this is going to absolutely KILL! Back in 1989, MEGADETH originally worked as a three piece - guitar, bass and drums - when we laid down the framework to our GRAMMY® nominated platinum album ‘Rust In Peace.’ I want to thank the other members of Lamb Of God for allowing this opportunity to take place for all of us in the metal community.”

David Ellefson adds, "Chris has been an endearing friend to us in MEGADETH for many years now, and he truly appreciates our music and its legacy. His drumming has forged such an innovative and ferocious path for metal music and I’m very proud that he is anchoring our rhythm section with us on this new album. I can clearly see a new dawn of 'utmost heaviness' unfolding in MEGADETH’s next chapter."

Chris Adler offers, “MEGADETH was the game changer for me. Growing up, there was no other band that meant as much to my musical interest and direction. There is no doubt I would not be doing what I have been doing for the past three decades had I not stumbled across 'Killing Is My Business' and the bible of all metal, 'Peace Sells' in my formative years.”

“About 10 years ago, LAMB OF GOD toured with MEGADETH and I was able to share that story with Dave and David, and we have kept in touch ever since,” adds Adler. “When Dave called me a while ago and asked if I was interested in making a thrash metal album with him, I felt like I must’ve been on a hidden camera show. “I was trying to play it cool, but I was speechless other than YES! Once I called my wife and my band guys to let everyone know, I had some time to really think about it and how I can best fit into this situation. I'm coming into this on fire. There is an incredible amount of respect, but the goal here is to make the very best thrash album we can. Together, I believe we can do something very special! Get ready for a very exciting chapter in the MEGADETH legacy.”

The new album is the follow up to MEGADETH’s 2013 release, Super ColliderSuper Collider hit No. 6 on The Billboard 200 and No. 3 on both the Top Rock Albums and Top Hard Rock Albums charts consecutively. To date, MEGADETH has sold more than 38 million albums worldwide and has scored five Top 10 albums, two Top 5 releases.

ATTILA CONFIRMED FOR 2015 VAN'S WARPED TOUR MAIN STAGE THIS SUMMER

BAND RETURNING TO THE TOUR FOR THE THIRD YEAR IN A ROW, WILL PLAY THE ENTIRE RUN

    GUILTY PLEASURE OUT NOW
New York, N.Y.): Attila slayed stages all over the U.S. in the fall upon the November 24 release of Guilty Pleasure.

But your boys will be back and taking over North America once again this summer, as they will return to the Vans Warped Tour, performing on the main stage for the entire trek.

The 2015 Vans Warped Tour runs from June 19 through August 8.

Attila are obviously enthused about spending their summer vacation as part of Vans Warped Tour for the third year in a row. They are also performing on the entire tour for back-to-back years.

"We are extremely excited to be spending another summer on Warped Tour with all of you," singer Fronz said about the good news. "This is by far our favorite tour to be on, and we have lots of exciting plans for you. Come hang out with us all summer long on the Main Stage!"

That sounds like an order that the Villain Army will have no choice but to follow.

In other Attila news, Fronz recently launched his photo-sharing app, Spur, which allows users to post and share any photos they wish, without commenting, making for a truly hate-free experience. All details about Spur are here.

The band's "Hate Me" video dropped earlier this winter, with Fronz and co. posing as cops and reinventing the notion of the long arm of the law as only they can. It has caused quite a bit of a stir. Put your hands up and watch it here.

Fans can grab Guilty Pleasure here.

    .

Australian thrash grind unit and recent Housecore Records signees, KING PARROT, will release their long-awaited new full-length May 19th in North America via Housecore Records. Titled Dead Set, the record was produced by the legendary Philip H. Anselmo, and his recording crew of Michael Thompson and Steve Berrigan at the infamous Nodferatu's Lair (Down, Eyehategod, Superjoint Ritual et al) in Louisiana and spews forth ten ravaging psalms that showcase KING PARROT's signature punk rock spirit and pummeling sonic debauchery. A true leap forward from their debut, Dead Set exhibits a distinct maturity from a band who've committed to the rigors of international touring, slaying audiences through Asia, North America, Europe and Australia on a regular basis.

As the first official helping from Dead Set, KING PARROT today offers up a brand new video for fourth cut, "Like A Rat," featuring a cameo appearance by Anselmo. Issues the band, "KING PARROT are excited to unleash the first taste of our new record Dead Set. We filmed the video for the track 'Like A Rat' on location at Nodferatu's Lair when recording the new album. We wanted to give everyone a teaser track and a small insight into the awesome experience we had recording with the Housecore Records crew. We're really grateful that we got the opportunity to record in a studio that's not all fancy bells and whistles, just a real down to earth place where we felt comfortable. Our aim was to get a unique and organic sounding product that sounds exactly like the band. I think we achieved that working with Phil, Mike and Steve. Preorders are now live for the record and we worked up some great bundle packs with our respective labels that we think fans of KING PARROT will dig."

    HERE.

MOTOR SISTER is a group of musicians whose collective musical pedigrees speak for themselves. Mother Superior founder, guitarist, and vocalist Jim Wilson fronts the band, with Anthrax's Scott Ian on guitar, Pearl Aday on backing vocals, Joey Vera on bass, and John Tempesta on drums.

The group was originally assembled to jam for Scott Ian's fiftieth birthday party. Thanks to Scott's wife Pearl Aday, who has been working on her solo career with Mother Superior front man Jim Wilson for years, all it took was a quick phone call and the stage was literally set for Scott's dream gig. "I wanted to cherry-pick a set list of my favorite Mother Superior songs and get these guys together and have the concert at my house," Ian says of the event that eventually led to an album.

"[Mother Superior] frontman Jim [Wilson] was totally into the idea. Pearl was a huge Mother Superior fan from way back and was in. I asked my good friends Joey Vera (Fates Warning, Armored Saint) and John Tempesta (White Zombie, Testament) to be a part of it because I knew they were both big fans as well and with no hesitation they said, 'We're in.'"

Wilson, too, was stoked by the opportunity to dust off some songs he hadn't played since his LA rock trio broke up in the early 2000's after releasing eight albums and playing as Henry Rollins' backing band. "I definitely didn't need any arm-twisting," he says. "I was totally flattered and thought it was a great idea. I figured it would be fun and it was a great opportunity for a new chapter to be established in order to move forward."

The recordings from those two days are what became to be known as MOTOR SISTER's Ride. The first single from those sessions, "This Song Reminds Me of You," is available for to stream, along with a featurette video on the formation of the band and the process behind the record, at
